Well China failed to get into the WS final and has to be contented with two representatives in tomorrow's finals with 1 representative each in MD and XD. Japan did particularly well with 3 finalists in WD and WS and is guaranteed the WD title.
I felt she shouldn’t have prolonged the rally at 19-16. Instead, she should have captured two quick pints and should have tried play with her mental and physical ability after that. A long rally there took some energy out of her as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We all know she is. But she seems to be having some cold problems, which drained her energy towards the part of 2nd game Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would say the referee costed Ratchanok final appearance. Because its just weird to see RI lying outside the court. what happen to RI and Sindhu is almost the same. We know nobody can match AY in terms of raw stamina but referee is putting non stop. Somehow it happened at this 1/13 SS tournament. From my feel, it kinda costed Ahmad/Natsir & Boe/Mogensen too although in RI case it was apparent. and Sindhu ( oh i got the feeling she will lose if it goes to decider)
It's gonna be tough for LCW to win. It was a disappointment when he lost to SWH yesterday when he should have won.
Like one said I don't understand why badminton doesn't follow tennis grand slam rules for main tournaments, let players have one day rest. No one likes to watch one player struggle due to fitness (Intanon earlier today and now Sindhu, many more in past) I would say a break after QuarterFinal would be good..?
It's alright to let LCW set the pace as long as you can make him work hard to earn his points, that seems to be SWH's thinking
I'm inclined to agree with you, let the sport be decided by, say, 70% skills and 30% fitness (or at least 60-40), not the other way round; after all, badminton is not mainly a test of physical strength. That's why I hate to see a match become a war of attrition.
Badminton doesn't generate the same amount of money as tennis. Market value of Federer is more than the combined of Lee + Lin. Hence, can't afford a day's rest.
