They just participated in the All India Sr national badminton tourney in Nagpur, KS and HSP had to battle it out in the finale, while the WS featured SN and PVS (obviously)

Yes, it was immediately followed by the Indian Sports Honours awards 'gala' in the Hyatt
Previously they were all featured in Legends Vision - India as well
So yeah no surprise, although it hurts a little as CHN PSS is my second Fav tourney in the calender year.

Surprisingly HSP still wants to play, I understand it, since he believes he is in form of his life and must as well get every bit out of it and possibly qualify for Dubai, but injury can't be risked.

Also, if VA wins this tourney KS's chances to win the player of the year - Men will be as good as over. He better redeem back in HKG

He has a very good draw, surrounded by qualifiers, certainly give motivation as well to scrape lots of point here

For this part, you should also not look over Kevin Sukamuljo/Gideon; another front contender to win the award. They have been to 6 SS finals and won 4 ;) To me, the award is either theirs or KS' at the moment. If VA won some more titles, he will also join the race. If KSS/MFG won another 1 SS and KS won nothing, I would say they will be the MPOTY

SK will miss ChinaOpen so it will go to KevinGideon with 6Finals this year.

I always notice why great players are great. They give this kind of mental pressure to opponent even though they are not the strongest athletes.Thats why its really important to win the first few SS that you are featured in the Finals. Like they are already in 9SS finals while all the pairs are only a few. There is some jealousy in there and hard mentality to overcome like 'why its always you that are in the final and not me? just because i beat you dont mean i will win the tournament anyway'. That automatically gives a game to them. and they just need to win 1/3 game to win the match. Unless the opponent is seasoned veterans. It was like ZN/ZYL, they are so hard to beat.

China have 10 Reps in MS and 9 Reps in WS into MainRound. Just by the number and probabilities itself, its hard to think they wont win the title in those two disciplines.

No disrespect for the boys but I think Chen Qingchen should be awarded Player of the year.

    Oh yeah ChenQingChen too.

The reason its hard for CQC to win is the fact that she plays two categories (and thats irony) and she is front player. Just like how its irony she is separated from ZSW. Imo, she is supported by JYF in WD and ZSW in XD, so who should get the credit when there are two pairs around backing her up? When JYF didnt play well, they implode like in FrenchOpen. imo CQC is just a so so player.

That too and also her consistency throughout the year, making her winning the most for titles and prize checks in 2017.

Or Nozomi Okuhara. That WC final was so amazing, and everybody likes her. To be honest, it's probably between TTY and NO. Chen QC hasn't lived up to the expectation that she'd win everything, and looked very off in the Sudirman Cup.

their instagram said that Juhl now has injury at her left thigh

Well, she only has 1 WC title and 1 SS title (Australia, some of the lowest one). I doubt that she will win it. The chance is better with CQC imo

TTY has won more than CQC (XD-WD combined) so far this year

But CQC won one gold and silver at WC, and has become WR#1 in both XD and WD.

Juhl withdrawn but Pedersen is still playing mixed double.

Juhl keeps getting injured it seems.
