Zii Jia finds himself facing Qiao Bin next. The 2016 KOR SS winner should be a good opponent to test how much can he compete against SS-tier opponents.
What happened to Rajiv in G1? Just awoke from sleep? 8:35 PM MS Rajiv OUSEPH [2] [ENG] - [GER] Simon WANG 19-21 21-10 21-7
I thought Jindapol will be upset by Michelle after she lost G1 badly and trailing in G2. But it seems she bounced back towards the end of G2 and managed to take it by a close margin 23-21. And in G3, Michelle must have lost her gas tank as she was overwhelmed 21-7. At least there is still some faith left in Jindapol. 2:05 PM WS Nitchaon JINDAPOL [2] [THA] - [CAN] Michelle LI 18-21 23-21 21-7
My Danish pick in MD has lost G1 19-21, got the momentum back in G2, and barely leading 9-7 now. 2:30 PM MD Jones Ralfy JANSEN [GER] Josche ZURWONNE [GER] - [DEN] Kim ASTRUP [2] [DEN] Anders Skaarup RASMUSSEN
At least the Danes saved my face for now with hard-fought victory: 2:30 PM MD Kim ASTRUP [2] [DEN] Anders Skaarup RASMUSSEN [DEN] - [GER] Jones Ralfy JANSEN [GER] Josche ZURWONNE 19-21 21-15 21-17
Lee Zii Jia with a good win over Qiao Bin, 21-17, 21-12. A good step toward a good result but the road is still long.
Quite an impressive performance by LZJ, LCW could be right about him, singling him out as the MAS MS player to watch.
Lol wdym by "not himself today" other than Korea open last year when has he ever been successful to impress anybody? He has always been extremely error prone and also several classes behind his illustrious seniors. To me, it's no surprise that LZJ won
I know that it also occurs at some other tournaments, often in some lesser degree but I find is astonishing that the XD players that has just finished their matches now (about 22.00) and played twice a day must play again tomorrow morning at 11.00 (the first in the schedule). All of XD players also experience it, so it is quite fair withing XD themselves. But isn't at least more appropriate to set the schedule to at least be the 3rd (e.g. after WS and MD) or even the latest one at the next day? That certainly has more consideration on the athlete perspective that has to play and spend their energy on the court....
