VA could have done it in 2 sets if he was more patient towards the end of G2. Anyway thanks Victor, I won my bet.
I don't see CL to be a force anymore. He was trained to take on LCW and he has accomplished his task, becoming an Olympic and World Champion along the way. Time to start a family.
Give some credit lah. At least he entered the QF. MS SON Wan Ho [1] [KOR] - [CHN] LIN Dan [7] 21-15 21-15 0:41
At least I'm glad that He Bingjiao proved in G1 she is as good as , if not better, than Marin. HBJ should've converted the gamepoints in G1 and give us a three-setter despite her stamina issue probably losing it in the end. I just want to see how she attempt a comeback in G3 and learn some lessons from it. That's what I believe young up-and-comers should go through to steel their resolve and gain valuable experience.
VA is playing at another level. The only players who can come close to beat him seem CL and Srikanth. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
CL likely to persist for another year, as china will look to win the Thomas Cup. it'd be a disaster if they don't have any of the 3 (Thomas, Uber and Sudirman).
Chen Long, yes, Srikanth, I'm not so sure. Didn't KS just lost in two straight sets to VA in the QFs ?
It's the era of Viktor Axelsen now, who at 23 yo this year, has indeed come of age! He has now beaten the ex-World No 1 (Lee Chong Wei) and the current World No 1 (Son Wan Ho) in winning the Japan SS 2017; the reigning Olympic 2016 Gold Medallst & 2015 World Champion (Chen Long) as well as the 2-times Olympic winners & 5-times World Champions (Lin Dan) in winning the World Championships 2017 title. He also won the India SS 2017 title and the European Mixed Team Championships 2017 earlier this year. Last year (2016), Viktor also won his first European Championship title (beating Jan Jorgensen in the Final), the prestigious team championships in the Thomas Cup and European Men's Team Championship) and his first BWF World Super Series Finals title (beating Tian Houwei in the Final). Congratulations Viktor! More will be expected of you (i.e. All-England title, more SS and World Championships titles, and perhaps an Olympic Gold Medal 3 years later when he's right at his prime age of 26?).
