Just wondering, had Lin Dan played VA yesterday instead and then play SWH today, would the result be any different ? I don't know.
You know, when Lin Dan couldn't convert G1 at 20-19, my heart sank as I immediately sensed he's going to lose it and not win a three-setter
Indonesia Open might the last one he still wants to collect, and that's all He has every single major title for at least twice I guess...
Viktor was destined to win ....LD was better at the net and VA still won convincingly....as usual LD's backhand long corner is the culprit.... LD has had to develop his backhand late in his career coz his movement tho around the head position has slowed down considerably.....
It's more like Chen Long acting up. And I was hoping a less tired Lin Dan to take on VA first , then play a controlled game with SWH to grind out a narrow victory, but he might still lose it to SWH. Just vain speculation. Pointless.
This is the young man I met at the Singapore Open 2015 who showed great potential then and has now become the World Champion 2017. Well done and congrats Viktor!
I'm sorry but I have to speculate as well. I think VA did to CL yesterday what LCW could have done in the WC finals '14 and '15 if he hadn't chosen the wrong tactics and been so nervous. We've seen Chong Wei dominate CL and LD like that. LD to a lesser extent of course. CL struggles against other players like LCW who play really well. Like SWH at the Olympics and now VA.
