For those who were wondering why LCW played so defensive against Brice Leverdez, this is why. LCW has always played an aggressive style, relying on his smash. The problem is, his aggressive style can't keep pace with his age. LCW was trying to change his game into a more defensive game. LCW is trying to do what LD has accomplished. The difference is, LD is more skilled than LCW. LD was able to transition to a defensive style that can save him stamina. If you want to force LD to smash, you beat him in the first set. Then LD will be forced to play aggressive and smash more. But if you let LD take the lead in the first set, and LD keeps the lead, LD will play a defensive style for the remainder of the match. You can see LD play this defensive, rally style against Son Wan Ho. LD was saving his energy against Son Wan Ho so LD can stay fresh for the finals. LD did finally do full power smashes and play aggressive, but he usually does it near the end of the set to seal the victory in the set. Otherwise, if it's early in the set, LD likes to play defensive. The WC has one extra round compared to the SS. LCW was thinking of saving his energy throughout the tournament so that when he reaches the point where he plays Chen Long or LD, his body is as rejuvenated as best as possible. That's why LCW played so defensive against Brice. However, LCW has not mastered this defensive style yet. And truth be told, LCW isn't as skilled as LD so I doubt that LCW can play as defensive as LD. Because it's the finals, I suspect LD can unleash a little and play more aggressive tomorrow against Viktor. However, knowing LD, he likes to pace his energy to the end.
if i'm not wrong, he also said RI dressed to impress and bright footwear to put off her opponent in her match vs CXX. not impressed. (at 5:14)
Uncle Lin turned back.time today .. to like his 2012 version or so .. going back to his 2008 version would not be possible now
Yeah not many smashes from that corner.... his net play wasn't good enough.... Lin Dan was phenomenal with his backhand wristy flick blocks and deceptive netplay ,his smashes were very effective too....though he is still susceptible to smashes in his backhand side....
if he wins again tomorrow, not his fault. it's all other players killing this sport, blame them, they are not good enough to kill this god... like tennis, you should not blame Federer but must be thankful to him. why badminton fans are so narrow minded? really killing the sport...
Wow...What a soul-quenching performance by The Artist. He has the determination, he has the fire in his belly, he has the cunningness. But the most important, he has the Inner Belief. Ladies & Beautiful Ladies ....The Maestro, The Illusionist.. The Legend of Our Sport....I love you, Lin Dan! Go for Gold..
Yesterday I thought Tanka/yanemoto can handle the Danish aunties, lil did I know, they still have lots of steam remaining Let's hope Yuki/hirota makes no mistake

Where is the strict cop moderator who maintained an infingement book and deducted points? Who is this philosophical guy with pragmatic solutions? This one is infinitely more likeable.
I still think this world title is Chen and yifan's to lose, they played an incredible matched specially I liked the way jia yifan played today. I miss tang yuanting, easily my favourite player in WD, I wish she comes back.
Actually, yesterday in his match against Vincent Wong, I already noticed a marked improvement in his game vis-a-vis the previous three rounds to win in two straight sets. Today,he was even better and treated to us to a beautiful controlled game with the occasional brilliancies in attack and his trademark dive retrievals. Let's hope Lin Dan continues in the same vein tomorrow and we are in for a treat !
