Goh Jin Wei got her heavy injury back, thus made her out of the rest tournaments in year 2017...

That's a shame. I literally saw her playing live last week. She looked completely fine.

She just had a bad luck by accidentally landing awkwardly on her bad leg.
A prospect that is full of injuries while so young in her career.
    It's a pity for her.

She's also being pushed too much recently by joining 4 back-to-back tournaments.

Chong Wei questions need to send Jin Wei for so many meets

BAM want Frost to give Jin Wei proper training plan

KUALA LUMPUR: Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria wants a proper training plan for youngster Goh Jin Wei after next month’s Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.

Yesterday, the 17-year-old was given the clearance to play in the Aug 19-30 Games after suffering an injury scare at the Asian Junior Championships in Jakarta on Monday.

She injured her ankle and the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test yesterday showed nothing serious.

She will go through one week of rehabilitation programme before switching to full-time court training.

Norza was happy with the news but did not want the 2015 world junior to be plagued by injuries any more.

“I pity Jin Wei. She’s one of the top players in the senior team and she is also our hope in the juniors. We need to plan her programme properly. If not she will be over worked,” said Norza.

“The mandate has been given to the technical director Morten (Frost) to ensure the planning and welfare of Jin Wei is taken care of. Morten will work with the coaches (Tey Seu Bock and Rony Agustinus) and the Podium Programme team.

“We’ve also asked a psychologist to work closely with Jin Wei. I believe she is also dealing with mounting pressure as our expectations are high on her.”

Now that Jin Wei’s injury issue is settled, Norza wants the Games-bound team to regain their momentum in training.

“It’s time for the team to put aside this injury issues and focus on their preparations for the Games,” said Norza after a visit by the Games chef de mission Datuk Marina Chin at the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM) yesterday.

Marina spent two hours with the shuttlers, motivating them to reach greater heights at the Games.

The shuttlers have an eight-medal target – two golds, two silvers and four bronzes – at the Games.

Not to give ger too much pressure especially with the coming World Junior Championship? I don't know.

She has won WJC in 2015 and recently YOG gold medal. A bright prospect for Malaysia. Can she be the next LCW in her WS category?

She actually stagnated. Even Morten Frost said so.

But, she is still young. Even younger than Gregoria. Maybe she was busy with school at that time. She is just 18 years.

Let's see how the full transition to the senior level works. Malaysia haven't exactly had a great track record with transitioning WC juniors to the very top.

All in all, GJW has shown a lot of maturity throughout the Malaysia Masters. Not easily rattled by bad line calls (i remember her last game with lee xuerui upset at the line call and lost narrowly)....able to rally back and stamp her dominance which helped her win straight set games even with big name opponents. Very excited by her 2019 game style... Go GJW!!!
