I've been using 66UM and NBG98 a lot at 25lbs on VT80 3U, VTLDF 4U and VT9 LD. I've got JS12 too with AEROBITE and an APACS Tantrum 200 II with virtuoso 68 ( made in japan and really kind of good despite the somewhat dull sound) and both at25lbs too. I play on feathers. I'm looking for a more "responsive" string, one that if I smash, defend and control, would give me a very satisfying results, not necesarily perfect but at least something to die for I agree though that string is one of the cheapest to try and experiment so I might go and give this GT5 a try and we'll see if it would take down my pants for its performance.
Ever tried BG80? I tried all the hyped strings over the years and was never convinced and never understand the high praise. Regardless if Gosen, Li-ning or Ashaway. Maybe the hype will jump next year on Toalson or Babolat.
Tried BG80 once, much too hard feel. And thinner strings like 66UM, GT5, ZM62F help generate better power and repulsion much more easily for weaker players like me. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
Once I really preferred hard feeling strings like BG80 and R4X110, but since I tried No. 1, I never looked back. Why work harder if you can have it much easier, right? Only downside is the missing roughness. But the insane repulsion of No. 1 makes me forget about that.
String it high enough. The bite makes up for the smooth coat. running No. 1 at 30/32lbs. For a BG80 lover. I'm quite satisfied. Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
I know, you've told me before. But something about GT5 doesn't work for me. I think it's a very hard feeling string + it's thin, which makes it even harder somehow...
The German Problem. We had 32 degrees, I sweat like roast meat in the oven, then a guy in my doubles match started to bend every second feather of my shuttle. I said "Schlag doch erstmal durch, du Vogel." He tested the speed of the bend shuttle. Shuttle land into the mid court. He said "Ist doch gut." I agree with @Rob3rt. If a lift, clear or a push/drive/smash goes out, the shuttle is always too fast. These guys have absolute no feel, control and are unable to adjust. If I lifted sometimes out, they always ask to bend and always say "It's too fast". Never play badminton in Germany.
I apologise if I'm being rude but, I'm starting to get the impression that German badminton players are generally idiots. Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
Oh yea, I almost forgot that I also have an Arc 11(haven't been using it for sometime) my first expensive racket and which I had re-stringed with a BG80 at 24lbs. quite recently since my stringer ran out of UMs. I must say that it's also a pretty darn good string, at least with my Arc 11 and which in my experience is somewhat comparable to its BG80P brother that I also tried before prior to switching to 66UM and NBG 98.
In a way yeah. If it can happen in 2 separate places from 2 different sources. What's the odds it doesn't happen in most other places? Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
Damn. Maybe it's a trend to not buy the right speed of shuttles in Europe with cold weather? Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
It's okay mate. I also think so about most german badminton players. I can write a book about idiotic german badminton players. No need to feel sorry.
I think it's because people in Asia are more passionate and knowledgable about Badminton in general. Some of those players in Europe just don't know better, they have no bad intentions although they are making me angry.
