    KOR v THA, 3-1
Sensational Thailand must ended their brilliant run here and admitted Korea is still strong squad to beat in team event. As expected, Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai delivered opening and only point for Thailand despite they had good prospect to make 2-0 up as second stringer Suppanyu Avihingsanon almost shocked the looked fatigue Son Wan Ho, 21-13 / 10-21 / 17-21. The vast experienced and new world number one stayed calm at crucial stage, 17 all at decider. Former world champion Ratchanok Intanon displayed below par performance, it's difficult to match Sung Ji Hyun rallying game plan. 8th Sudirman Cup final for three-time winner Korea and will take on either tough foe China or Japan tomorrow.

Plus, look at the Uber cup matches IND only won matches because they Saint and Sindhu made it 2-0 for the team, and no matter how tough and strong your opponents are second thoughts involuntarily surface and things go wrong under pressure. Thailand and INA were many folds better than India but even they crumbled.
And its CHN they are the favorites and have arguably the best team they don't have to rely on these advantages but what harm can it do.

Looking at CHN v JPN line-up, China hopes to grab first three matches (XD, MS, MD) as they have not sure to seal women's department match which is Japan advantage. As consequences, Chen Qingchen will play twice, if the tie is stretched into last match, Japan is favoured to prevail through Matsutomo/Takahashi.

Head to Head - XD - based on DATA, last month result speaks clearly for itself why CQC/ZSW is assigned here!

They should have played lu Kai, HYQ in XD, and

Either CQC /JYF or BYX /TJH in WD.

Also look at the data about the Hong Kong player they lost to last week.

    Before that they comfortably won.

    Yeah totally.
After all the hard work she do the young lady deserve some appreciation and achievements. It was very disheartening to see her loose g2 against TTY the other day, even after she put up every ounce of effort she could on the court.

The H2H favors CQC/ZSW plus if that was the case XD the strongest discipline for CHN would be played last

Perhaps the CHN coaches weren't too convinced by Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong's showing against the IND XD for dropping the first set, a bit shaky, and if they progress to the final, selecting LK/HYQ again means they will be playing three consecutive days, may be a bit stretched. Also, CQC/ZSW after their loss to the THA pair were reproaching themselves for their inability and lack of experience on turning the match around, so it's possible Zhang Jun still believe in them and would like to give them another chance to prove themselves without denting their confidence.

Based on the latest comments from Zhang Jun and Xia Xuanze, it seems they are realistic about their chances and the difficulties they will face in CHN's bid to retain the Sudirman Cup and are not being too hard on their players and themselves. Just saying.

Still, the choice of Sun Yu surprised me somewhat,I suspect XXZ views He Bingjiao as too inconsistent and unpredictable apart from her fitness issue, and Chen Yufei is relatively raw and too inexperienced, so he's left with little choice but to give more weight to experience and picked SY and just hope for the best.

A good start for Team CHN in winning the XD is crucial, I believe. MD is 50-50, WS is a lost cause maybe while WD is also 50-50 at most; only MS is a sure winner. On the whole, a make or break for Team CHN in the semifinal against JPN, indeed a battle fit for a final, I feel.

Do you realize that it was just the last match after CHN led 4-0 over HKG? Frankly I even wondered why the XD still threw in that much effort there.
Unless you thought THA would beat CHN in group match to create a tie :D:p but even in that case a 4-1 win with all wins in straight was still quite comfortable. I just would not take that outcome seriously. The sole objective here is the Cup. The whole decision is focused to that, not how many matches one wins against any opponent. Just make sure enough to win the match. That's all.

I'm curious and very much looking forward to see how CQC and ZSW handle the pressure after their unexpected defeat to the HK pair earlier. Being able to overcome adversity and oneself is the hallmark of a champion.

Very different gameplay. More cross-country and more agression. Retrieving skills needs polishing. She has improved magically after indian SS. Dramatic. Speed and court coverage will tell its tale when she meets Marin. She was better against underconfident and lackluster intanon. Rare to see her happy and winning.

I mean , for losing to the HK pair, ZSW/CQC are already blaming themselves (needlessly in my opinion), I can't imagine how they will take it if they screw up this one.
