Singapore Indoor Stadium is really lucky ground for the unseeded MS players and it happens again this year. Two Indian shuttlers manage good run so far, Sai Praneeth edged out 8th seed Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk in 71 minutes marathon match. His step was followed later by former Indian number one Srikanth Kidambi who won over Chinese blossoming talent Shi Yuqi comfortably. It's wide open for four semifinalists to book final berth, Praneeth has the resurgent Lee Dong Keun who suddenly is back into the map here and Srikanth will up against Indonesian promising star, Anthony Ginting who downed Vincent Wong Wing Ki, 21-19 / 21-14. Who will capitalise this anomaly situation in Superseries level?

Women's singles is still presenting top names in title contention, world number one Tai Tzu Ying continues her winning trend, disposed Sayaka Sato in two straight-games. The Taiwanese skillful player will face underdog Zhang Beiwen who showed tenacity to eliminate Akane Yamaguchi in tough clash. Always strong motivated, the Olympic Champion Carolina Marin totally controlled and dictated P.V. Sindhu this time since the beginning of the match, pretty lop-sided surprisingly between these two elite players. Marin will be tested by familiar foe tomorrow, Sung Ji Hyun who advanced consistently into semifinal in last three Superseries in this season. The Korean powered past Sun Yu who looks struggling lately.

An easy way for new MD hotshots Gideon/Sukamuljo en route to semifinal, their next hurdle will be Danish veteran Boe/Mogensen who outplayed Kamura/Sonoda with two quick games in last eight. On bottom half of draw, Li JH/Liu YC involved in close contest to overcome Pratama/Suwardi and will be challenged by another Indonesian pair Angriawan/Hardianto, this relatively new partnerships knocked out the below-par Rio silver medalists, Goh/Tan in quarterfinal.

Two Korean pairs progressed into semifinal with contrasting fashion, Chang/Lee defeated Thai pair easily while Jung/Shin fought hard to down China youngsters Chen/Jia. The perfect scenario based on seeding position, All England final rematch will pit Chang/Lee against Pedersen/Juhl and top seed Matsutomo/Takahashi will meet Rio bronze medalists Jung/Shin to hunt final ticket.

The in-form Chinese XD, Lu K/Huang YQ have tricky test to overcome, Kim GJ/Shin SC who knocked out their teammates Zhang/Li at opening round. Malaysian back-ups Tan KM/Lai PJ showed the exit door for their more fancied opponent, Fischer/Pedersen and will set up a clash with the on-fire Thailand combination Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai, an intriguing encounter at TV court tomorrow.

    LIVE TV COVERAGE (Court 1, 02.00pm) :

    1) Chang Ye Na/Lee So Hee (KOR) v Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen (DEN)
    2) Carolina Marin (ESP) v Sung Ji Hyun (KOR)
    3) Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo (INA) v Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen (DEN)
    4) Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing (MAS) v Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai (THA)
    5) Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (INA) v Kidambi Srikanth (IND)

Either XD or MS should make way for the other WS which offers so much higher quality and more intrigue.

boe/mogensen is not slow, they play smart way of badminton precisely the way japs dont like to play

not every pair can play like them just to slow down the rhythm because its easier getting points if you play quickly... yet another contrasting battle later..

    Did you watch the match?
Many times the guy did most of the work, the girl calmly delivered the point. The closing is crucial.

From past matches that I watched, Tan's smashes which were returned, Lai just gently block it instead of using more force to score the points.
