Only 2 men in the world can beat LCW in 2 straight sets!!

both Marin and LD have now won Malaysia once.

Their next goal must be Indonesia.

LCW had a too easy way to the final so he could not find his best form

Somehow since yesterday, I have this feeling Lin Dan will win it, just my intuition.

    I have a conspiracy theory.

What if Lin Dan went to LCW and asked him to lose?

LCW didn't play quite well today!

What do you think about my conspiracy theory?

LD going to LCW and asking to let him win, so that he can qualify for world champs?

    LCW seemed to passive today.

By my rough calculation LD should be 10th in WC qualification after this week. If he wins China Masters (likely) he would be top 8 and not need any shenanigans to qualify for WC.

I thought the pairing was Marin and CL (2014, 15 WC, 2016 OG, 2015 AE, etc)...lol

LD only plays his best against LCW these days. Great to see him injecting pace again!

    1) Nice white hair on the prize giving dude. who is he? looks fab!
    2) memento/dolls-giving lady with the conical hat (to lin dan) looks lke a doll herself..i'd like to know what that traditional costume is?
    3) both seem really, really tired.... body language, stances and all. can someone who attended the match confirm?

ps: 16 pages only? i expected more discussion and comments :)

Lin Dan's resounding victory here puts paid to the theory or belief that he can't win certain tournament(s), nonsense, it's all up to him as I've always argued and believed. Simply put, if it's a tournament he wants to win , he will do it.

But for him to do so in the twilight of his career makes it even more extraordinary. Truly phenomenal.

Nuuuuuuu! I agree, Lee hasn't played very well today, it feels similar to the Rio Olympic final last year, Lee didn't look to attack until it was within points away from the match point for his opponent, then comes a barrage of smashes resulting in Lee committing a mistake.

Congrats to Lin Dan though, I had a feeling he was holding it against Lee the last MO final loss he had, not to mention the China Open SF loss that allowed Lee to win at their home. I just knew he wanted this one.

LD probably have a pact with LCW. You let me have one MAS title and I won't stand in your way for a World title. They were so friendly.

LD had LCW's wings clip throughout the match, he could hardly execute any of his deadly smash. The quality of LD's lift is just so amazing.

Don't think so, I suppose PM of Malaysia called on him reminding his national duty. Saw an Op'ed saying so.

One should take note how Lin really controlled his unforced errors and maximized his advantage. as a famous malaysian coach would say it (as i read here) "kept it in the court" :), while lcw just couldn't bring that down. i know it's hard when you're facing the best opponent in the world (applies to both!) but it's just one of many important factors.
