In men's singles category of qualifying round, Zhao Junpeng, Anthony Ginting, Kazumasa Sakai and Brice Leverdez secured main draw ticket. Sourabh Verma made great comeback when trailed behind, 7-17 at deciding game even reached match point, 20-19 but Ginting grabbed three consecutive points at crucial stage to seal the match 22-20. Sourabh's younger brother Sameer also failed to clear first round of qualification.
