Visor, keep in mind that the information you have on this dispute, is coming mainly from LCW, brought forward by Malaysian federation, Malaysian news and fans (social media). If you think the info is neutral or objective in any way, or representing the Danish coach clashing with the Malaysian superstar, you are probably wrong.

I guess MF had been fired a long time ago, if in fact that was the case. He's still there.

    Cheers,

Surely MF and LCW have different priorities.

Say LCW got the best of his final two years as a player, and won a WC while MF was working for BAM. But the next 3-4 years Malaysia won no medals at all.

    Would people then say:

"It's a good thing MF'S sorted out LCW and got him that medal".

    Or would they say:

"Finally LCW got that medal, he's the best ever. But that MF guy, he failed miserably not developing a single new talent to take the throne after him".

I have an idea about that :)

    Cheers,

you could say bam is lcw's mother, and she let him get away with everything and spoiled him while he was growing up. we are seeing the results of that now, for better and worse.

i want to see lcw lose early @ worlds so malaysian badminton can move forward, especially their mens singles.

yup, i said that out loud.

bam knows frost is a key factor for the future of malaysian badminton.
bam also knows lcw is fading. they just can't say it publicly.

Don't be a jerk if you don't appreciate him. He has worked his bone off to help BAM for 18 years already. He doesn't complain even once before this. He won his match in every team events. If you doesn't mind, care to treat other person with respect.

i'm a fan of, and respect, his skill and his accomplishments. i am not a fan of his attitude.
bam has poured more money into him than any other player over the last 18 years.
that does not mean he has 'earned' a right to complain now.
do you mean like he is treating morten frost through the press right now?

again, i am a fan of his skills and accomplishments. that does not mean i have to like everything about him.
i am not a fan of his attitude. that does not mean i will dislike everything he does.

i call it the carolina marin syndrome. i don't like her attitude, but i'll pay to watch her play in a ss tournament.

helix99, don't feel like you have to defend lcw or be offended on his behalf. that road leads to fighting the internet... a no win battle for everyone that tries. if you don't like what i write, ignore me.

Actually this discussion has been going on for a while, in the more "niche" threads on the forum.

Take this post in the thread "Is BAM Going in the Right Direction".

    Two things worth noticing:

    1)
Other single players complain over LCW's position has damaged their chance of development, and that a coach having only 4 players to look after, disregarded 3 of them to work mainly with LCW.

    2)
Morten Frost goes out publicly and defends said coach (and thus LCW). As the team player he is, the press is not the place to handle any disputes.

It's not like this guy is a nobody. He was a genuine talent back when he won the Asia Youth Championships. Why he hasn't made it past #50 since then I don't know, and it's possible he's only venting his frustrations over not achieving his potential. But it's an interesting article nevertheless.

I don't see any Malaysian singles player win a medal at the next Olympics, especially not in the MS. Hard times for MF. If LCW retires, he will leave a big big drought.

i think they should name the special squad, BAM2, lead by Datuklee and compete with MF for resources.

Yes. From that, can we assume all the personal admin with regards to tournament planning will be done by the special squad itself and not by BAM? A separate unit within BAM? Nobody else to angry with except for his own team. And now, LCW has his own responsibility to train up the next generation to success. After all, since now he has his own squad, it would be reasonable for BAM to expect something back in return.

In essence, Morten Frost has given up on MS.

The five MS players mentioned to be on the "special project" are not the full MS squad. Does someone with knowledge of the whole squad could situate them?

2 different MS squad in the BAM camp seems to be a productive idea. Having a group of players in the special project could motivate the remaining MS players in the camp to do better if they want to convince Hendrawan to include them in this special squad.

However, IMHO, It is more better and functional to increase Hendrawan role in the decision making authority especially in any issues relating to the coaching structure so that he would not need to inform and wait for the consent from the CNT comitee on how and what he wants to do with his players ......... rather then been given more administrative work..... like filling forms, booking flights.....which is very unlikely can improve Iskandar playing consistency.
