Lin Dan's team Guangzhou on the recieving end of another Whitewash. Loses 5-0 to 2nd last team Zhenjiang.
Some interesting results in R4: Guangzhou lost to Zhejiang , I supposed it's an away match which Lin Dan didn't go as his contract only stipulated all the seven home matches as compulsory for him to play. I think it's looking likely that Lin Dan's Guangzhou team is out of the running for the top 4 places though it's only R5 with nine more group matches to go, altogether 14 rounds before the top 4 play-off stage.
Btw, Zhejiang comprises the following team members : Zhejiang Jingti's, Men - Zheng Siwei, Wang Sijie, Guo Kai, Lin Guipu, Huang Yuxiang Women - Huang Yaqiong, Chen Yufei, Du Peng, Ling Ziqiao And Guangzhou Heyuan Nong Shang Yinhang (Yueyu)'s team list, Men - Lin Dan, Wang Zhengming, Zhang Zhijun, Zhou Haodong, Li Longda (Lee Yong Dae), Shen Baizhe (Shin Baek Cheol) Women - Zhong Qianxin, Ou Dongni, Ma Jin, Zhen Yu, Wu Yingshi, Fu Xue, Li Yun (just added) As I couldn't watch the livestream, not sure whom they fielded for the matchup.
Just realized the retired Wang Shixian actually beat He Bingjiao whom of late has been in indifferent form after her successful European tour, still I hadn't such an outcome form WSX. Hope to catch the video later on youtube, if available. Perhaps, CBA might want to consider persuading the 26-yr-old WSX to return to the national team ?
Qingdao 3-2 Xiamen ! Finally Chen Long won a point to his team Qingdao after defeating Tian Houwei 21-14 21-14. Hui Xirui beat He Bingjiao 18-21 / 21-12 / 21-18 the latter got a minor injury during the match. Go Qingdao ! Btw glad that Justin L is back! I have missed his long essays
http://www.zhangyu.tv/quzhouye Finally get to see how the 17/18 years old Gao Fangjie looks like, a tall nice-looking lass.
Thanks, I'm glad about you too, thought there's nothing of interest until Jan'2017. Happily, the CBSL is capturing our attention, esp when Lin Dan and Chen Long were squaring off and what a match it was. (Hope you didn't mean I'm being long-winded. Just kidding, mate.)
Talking about Gao Fangjie, I hope she develops into a better version of Sun Yu or becomes another Wang Yihan.
http://www.zhangyu.tv/quzhouye Now showing MD Hunan's Cai Yun/Kang Jun versus Jiangsu's Chai Biao/Zhang Wen After that is MS, the matchup could be Hunan's Zhou Zeqi versus Jiangsu's Shi Yuqi, I hope.
Just heard the commentator announced the MS afterwards will be featuring Hunan's Tan Zhendong vs Jiangsu's Shi Yuqi.
Unfortunately, the website http://www.zhangyu.tv/quzhouye livestream is actually a delayed telecast by several minutes as it's more interested in showing advertisements.
From hearing the out-of-sync commentaries, I thought it was about several minutes late, so in effect we're watching a delayed telecast, not 'live' as indicated on the screen. I suspect this problem affects viewers outside China as there's a pop-up message every now and then requesting that we register as a new member or sign-in if we're one. For better enjoyment, I'll wait for the videos to be made available later on youtube. But, of course you're right as a check with the schedule showed that three of the group matches start at 1400hr local time, except the first tie which starts at 1330hrs.
CBSL 2016-2017 R2, Xiamen's Wang Yihan vs Zhejiang's Chen Yufei You can see Wang Lin coaching Chen Yufei. CYF smartly played all four corners to tire WYH out whom the commentators expressed was struggling to cope, sweating profusely and panting. OTOH, CYF earned high praise from them as a player who's steady, of even temperament and has what it takes to assume one of the leading roles in CHN WS in the near future. Contrastingly, the two male coaches for Wang Yihan were looking dismayed, incredulous that WYH was being routed by CYF. Apparently, WYH's fitness has deteriorated considerably in just a few months after her retirement (hasn't she been keeping up with her physical training at least, if not racquet practice, as she knew she would be playing the CBSL and even said she wished to compete in the China National Games next year ?). All the more surprising to me that Wang Shixian could still beat He Bingjiao in R4.
