Chen Qingchen's prize money today is USD40K , I'm referring to her share after deducting what goes to CBA (half). Not bad for a 19-year-old girl in China for one week's work.

She's laughing her way to the bank this year. Double duty means double prize money payout. :p

Siwei is the youngest male players to win in here, says GC.

From oldest to youngest of the 19 years old Chinese quartet.

    Zheng>He>Chen>Jia.

gelopisan mentioned GC was referring Zheng as the youngest male player.

I think I heard her said male player during the victory ceremony just now, probably correcting herself.

I still think it is not so wise if this extra burden goes on in the long run, for certain period at her young age, possibly for sharpening her skill & tactical plays, it may be okay. Time will tell... a year or two are sufficient to conclude.

Chinese regeneration is top notch. 2 titles from 19 years old juniors is just remarkable!

Even the highly experienced 26-yr-old Zhang Nan is struggling to cope in two disciplines in every tournament, I'm a bit concerned for Chen Qingchen. But, maybe ,it's slightly less strenuous or demanding for the female doubles player than the male who has to do a lot of the hard smashing in both MD and XD.

The very chance for Goh/Tan to bag the title here.... what a good & rare opportunity [in the absence of the giants].

Still need many more rise-ups and more evenly in all disciplines to prop the long history of establishment! And some dead woods are still in int'l circuit.

The way they're playing now, I will place my bet on them over Zhang Jun/Gao Ling at their best. ;)

For the male role in XD is more demanding, a dual task like the Zhang Nan's case is a bad designation, indicating the shallow depth of available resources within the Chinese team!
