Busanan ~ RI not on the earth..
Anyways she was thrashed by SY earlier today..
PV is "SS resistant" as aforementioned.
Others = HBJ (tired (?) The scoreline is ominous)

Whom do we have if I put aside on fire AY, and the OG champ CM.
Error prone TTY (don't think she'll go Much deep here) or not so amusing Sung (no offense)
    WS has surely weakened :(
Looking forward for CYF, I am sure she'll do even better then HBJ very soon.. And probably GJW, Pornpawee and natsuki nidaira too..

Indeed, unfavourable draw, CHN current star v future star.

    ROUND OF 16 (10.00am) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...490F7E-629A-410C-9365-F7938C57AA25&d=20161117

    *Match Highlights :
    - Qiao Bin (CHN) v Prannoy H.S. (IND)
    - Tian Houwei (CHN) v Vincent Wong Wing Ki (HKG)
    - Hu Yun (HKG) v Viktor Axelsen (DEN)
    - Shi Yuqi (CHN) v Chen Long (CHN)
    - Carolina Marin (ESP) v Sayaka Sato (JPN)
    - Tai Tzu Ying (TPE) v Minatsu Mitani (JPN)
    - He Bingjiao (CHN) v Porntip Buranaprasertsuk (THA)
    - Gideon/Sukamuljo (INA) v Ellis/Langridge (ENG)
    - Kititharakul/Prajongjai (THA) v Matsuo/Naito (JPN)
    - Vivian Hoo/Woon KW (MAS) v Jung KE/Shin SC (KOR)
    - Chan PS/Goh LY (MAS) v Zhang N/Li YH (CHN)

MS two seeded players have been ousted, Chou Tien Chen couldn't balance Qiao Bin powerful attacking style and Son Wan Ho involved gruelling clash with HKG smart player Wei Nan, the Korean lost in three games. Rio bronze medalist Viktor Axelsen was pushed to work hard by Xue Song who performed excellent at first quarter of this season before suffered injury in IND Superseries. Host China have 5 representatives in this category but unfortunately two of their potential players will face each other today, the Olympic champion Chen Long and shining star Shi Yuqi. On top-half of draw, the front-runner Jan O Jorgensen will up against Englishman Rajiv Ouseph and Tian Houwei has tough hurdle to tame, Vincent Wong Wing Ki who knocked out him in last two meetings.

Two prominent WS were retired yesterday, former World Champion Ratchanok Intanon and reigning All England champion Nozomi Okuhara. Top-seed Carolina Marin and 5th seed Tai Tzu Ying will be tested by Japanese rival in today's second round, Sayaka Sato and Minatsu Mitani respectively. The in-form Akane Yamaguchi is expected to through into last eight and possibly will face Korean leading lady Sung Ji Hyun tomorrow. China hopeful, He Bingjiao was struggling to overcome her compatriot Zhang Yiman as something problem for the left-handed knee. He will see Thai challenger Ponrtip Buranaprasertsuk who needed three games against the comeback Saina Nehwal. Sun Yu and newly-crowned WJC Chen Yufei will cross sword to book quarterfinal spot.

It's mixed fortune for local MD, Liu Cheng/Zhang Nan succeeded to defeat second seed narrowly, Goh VS/Tan WK in marathon match but later in the evening 3rd seed Li JH/Liu YC scored setback outcome, lost two straight-games to the unseeded Japanese duo Hoki/Kobayashi. Another first round clash headline was Astrup/Rasmussen stunned recent All England winner, Ivanov/Sozonov in very close margin of last two games, 9-21 / 23-21 / 24-22. Danish combinations are doing well so far with three spots in last sixteen, it's contrary with Indonesia camp, three pairs couldn't pass opening round, leaving 7th seed Gideon/Sukamuljo as sole survivor.

Bulgarian Stoeva sisters advance to quarterfinal without lifting their racket as their oppoents pulled out including 5th seed Maheswari/Polii, the Indonesians flew back to Jakarta due to Maheswari's father passed away yesterday. An unexpected result for home promising stars Chen QC/Jia YF who wasted healthy leading 17-12 at deciding game then Tanaka/Yonemoto grabbed 9 consecutive points to seal the second ticket, 21-17. It's quite bleak prospect for China to keep their supremacy in this category at homeground Superseries, Huang DP/Li YH have uphill task to shock hot favourite Matsutomo/Takahashi and Luo twin sisters will be their last hope to go further here.

    LIVE TV COVERAGE (01.00pm, Court 1) :

    I wholeheartedly agree.

Badminton WS is going through its biggest crisis in the history of the sport... :( Between retirement of two top 10 players (WY and WSX) plus injury of two more (SN and LXR), plus frequent withdrawal/ match retirement of three more (RI; NO; CM) ; the WS pool is a shadow of itself, with a noticeably lower level of competition.

Nozomi especially has proven to be very injury prone having withdrawn from Indonesia Open, India Open; Korean Open, French Open and now retiring from the China Open putting a real risk on her qualification for Dubai; Same for Ratchanok who withdrew from Denmark and French Open and now retired from China Open, missing three superseries tournament in a row.

MS and MD have definitely taken the spotlight!

The umpire not letting Matsutomo/Takahashi challenge the call! weird. And Why is a Chinese umpire officiating a match being played by a chinese player.

It's is a disgrace that this is happening in a premier level tournament. Can you imagine it happening in a grand slam in tennis. The umpire seems to be biased, not even letting Japanese pair change the shuttle.

ATROCIOUS JUDGING-- BOTH from the Umpire and the Tournament Referee (all 4 of them were probably day-dreaming instead of watching the 4 courts).

Matsuomoto and Takahashi, you show them what REAL Olympic Champions and sportsmanship is about, but I AM OUT-- as far as I am concerned, this China Open is not happening-- see you at the Hong Kong Open....

What a disgrace to court officiating...the players should be ashamed to win via such means.

Absolute disgrace ! That Chinese umpire should be ashamed of himself and present excuses to the Japanese team. Disgusted by the behavior and obvious bias of this umpire. The Court Official was even more incompetent. The commentators could not believe what they were witnessing, especially since the shuttle was in fact in.

They were right not to shake his hand. They should have refused to play on in fact.

    Disgusted.

    A) They should have demanded a review by the tournament referee (not just the deputy).

    B) They should have refused to play on until said official appeared.

    C) BWF should not be allowing umpires to preside over players from their own country due to potential for conflict of interest.

An absolute disgrace to the tournament and the BWF for allowing such a situation to occur and go unrectified. Even Gill and Steen could barely hold back their disgust...

I am out and I could not watch the match. But is it not the duty of umpire to allow players to challenge?

Evidently his duty to his country outweighed his duty as an adjudicator of fair play.

    The umpire literally rushed to claim the Chinese team victorious in G2, completely ignoring the very obvious challenge of the japanese pair (both raising and waiving their two hands ! lol) and then refusing to call the referee on court ! and then just enforcing every single request of the chinese to change the shuttle (when they were the receiver!) and just being overall very complacent to constant request for the court to be moped and other time-wasting tactics;

You should watch the match and see for yourself; this was unbelievable

The commentators despite their professionalism could not hide their disbelieve in the unfairness of the treatment the japanese were being subject to
