My earlier predictions about Akane Yamaguchi winning the WS title could be wrong and Tai Tzu Ying may just win it after all.

For such a shortie (no offense intended) as Akane to smash from the backline and then rushed the net to kill the shuttle is remarkable.

No offense too here. Being such a shortie I am amazed how Akane Yamaguchi can enter the finals of a SSP events.

Wow what a close shave. Tai Tzu Ying just won the first set. Tai Tzu Ying must win the second set too in order to win this WS title. If it drags to the third set I am afraid that Akane will win in the end.

Well, Cheung Ngan Yi came close to beating Tai TY yesterday, I expect Akane to succeed in a three-setter, her court coverage, retrieving ability and stamina, all related, will help her edge out TTY in the end.

And, I hasten to add, Akane can smash quite effectively from the backline, not so much power but placement, something that Cheung is not very good at.

When you see Tai TY starts playing all sorts of disguised, fanciful shots and making errors more often than not, you know she's losing it.

Akane should've flicked that one to TTY's deep backhand instead.

It's still early days yet but I'm sensing an Akane victory.

Akane gets so much back that TTY is feeling the strain

When you're late to the shuttle and your opponent reads it, you're done for.

Whenever there is a long rally Akane Yamaguchi will win the points.
