5 good points lead more than half way thru the third set and Sun Yu failed to finish it off....

Chen Jin, do something about it.

Chen Jin, three of your experienced top players are not around, you've to build your remaining youngsters up as quickly as possible.

Sad! Sun Yu losses a lot of these tight matches. Guess these matches will help in strengthening her mental strength.

When all but some top players are playing , China's stand of not winning WS title is still continues.

    Court 3 updates

Chen Qingchen / Zheng Siwei played so well today to win their match today. Congratulations both had played so well and attack all out with full force power to win their match. Congratulations.

    Court 1 updates

Carolina Marin and Sun Yu both played so well today. Both just kept attacking and smashing to win points. But in the end it is Carolina Marin who prevail to win the match. Congratulations.

To me , Sun Yu's mistake lies in her mentality, when leading esp near the finishing line, never let up or play safe, go for it , continue to pile on the pressure, take more risk, fear not, let yourself go completely.

If only Tang Xianhu is around to train the younger cohort of CHN players, even briefly.

Again LHII loses the first game with meagre points. And then coming back in the second game. He is something.

Sun Yu's tactics is the result of her wrong mindset, choosing safe shots, mostly lifting, to try to hold on to the lead in the hope that the opponent errs, wrong thinking.

Yes I thought Sun Yu will win the match especially she isw leading the third set. But what a waste indeed to lose the match today. She is even trailing 14-8 yet she could not even close up the game. I feel bad for Sun Yu.

Sun Yu really must learn from yer young compatriots Zheng Siwei / Chen Qingchen who played so well to win their game over a much more experienced and higher ranked player. Sun Yu really need to overcome her mental issues towards teh end of the game.

Wow what a great comeback from Lee Hyun Il to lead in the second set 18-11. If Lee Hyun Il can win the second set he is set to win the third set already.

After losing the first set 6-21 it is indeed amazing to see Lee Hyun Il winning the second set 21-13. Wow he really got so much of energy and stamina to play on.

Marin is the reigning Olympic and World Champion.

She is better than Sun Yu, at the moment.

But Sun Yu is younger and has four years to catch up to Marin's level.

Chen Jin has no choice but to rely on Sun Yu for the next four years since HBJ and Chen YF are too young and inconsistent.

That was totally awsome. Match of the tournament. I thought that her sickness will prevent us from seeing proper face-off.
