I think Ma Jin had better concentrate on XD, in WD, once the opponents managed to pin her at the back, they know 9 out of 10 times she will only play clears or drop shots, somewhat easy to anticipate.

Ma Jin and Tang YT were very promising. I thought they would overtake both YY/WXL and ZYL/TQ at one point.

Maybe with Yu Yang's retirement, Ma Jin and TYT can re-unite!!

Sayaka Sato is fatigued, she let Sindhu escape, it may be costly for her in the decider.

I've a feeling Sayaka who's playing better is going to lose G3 on fitness.

Sindhu receives low serves very well, esp when the opponent is tired.

At least Sayaka Sato is alert when serving this time, the break couldn't have come at a better time for her, she looks so tired. Maybe she could do a Chou Tien Chen and finds reserves of energy somewhere.

JPN WS are generally among the fittest but Syaka Sato is not among the best, Nozomi and Mitani have better stamina than her.

A tired Sato having serve turns out to be a disadvantage.

Lack of match practice is clearly visible. Sindhu is not at all herself. But no probs. Be prepared for the next.

Sayaka Sato's perseverance paid off, her tenacity and unyielding spirit remarkable.

Sindhu is getting better at capitalizing on her height and reach, with excellent retrieving ability and fast intercepts, a dangerous opponent for almost all players, even more so for those whose fitness or stamina is a bit suspect.

It's the best I've seen Sato play. She has a real chance to reach the finals. Also very happy to see Sato is playing well after the serious injury. She is even better than before, as commentators pointed out.

Seems Carolina Marin didn't have much court practice either, as she has lost the first game 21-19

Sindhu was busy starting from day 1 after Olympics. She could not get proper match practice as it is needed. And this is the chance, when players from various countries could show their respective associations by beating medal winners.

A real contrast when we consider that Saina Nehwal was in the same situation 4 years ago. She also played Denmark open after the bronze in Olympics and ended up winning the title! No excuses for her. But, I guess she was more experienced then if we compare her to sindhu.

Sindhu is just 21 years old. You know what happened when Li xuerui won Gold and later when she participated in China Open, the same Sindhu defeated her when she was only 16 years old.

Gopichand said in an interview that For Olympics, Usually players in top 5 will share the podium . It has become a norm . But Sindhu broke the odds and became Silver medallist . Its rare. Let her settle down . In her age, if you see money which no other badminton players had earned in the same age, it will take you to a position from where it is difficult to come down. Let us wait . She will become a formidable badminton player ever.

Also PVS is not still used to all the media attention. Saina was getting media attention before winning bronze also.
