Two Wangs have announced retirement, Li Xuerui is recuperating her knee surgery, they have no many options except Sun Yu, He BJ and Chen YF.

Exactly, until LXR comes back fully match fit 6 - 9 months later, CHN WS have to depend on their second stringers, with the exception of Sun Yu perhaps, to cover the big gap.

Finally Akane Yamaguchi scores first victory of 7 meetings against defending champion Nozomi Okuhara, 21-11 / 23-21.

That's what pissed me off. I don't enjoy following livescore, so may go do something else while I still have quite a bit of time on hand.

I must say Son Wan Ho carries on his fine Olympic form but, frankly, I don't think it's still good enough to upset LCW, again jumping ahead of myself.

Livescore, heck no livesteeam, shows Intanon drops G1, 20-22, but if, as I expect, Intanon's stamina is much better, she'd turn the match around in G2 and G3.

May is such an error prone. She need to focus and play simple shots rather than going for crazy shots. But He bingjiao played really well when it matters. She was calm and composed , without giving much errors on her shots during the trailing end of the match.

Srikanth also should learn how to keep focused from chinese players. He is one of the mentally weak players in the world. He had 4 points lead and suddenly lost to Marc.
