Yup, much better to retire on a high. In a way, Lin Dan was taking quite a risk not retiring after LOG'12 but then it's a decision only he could well afford to make with his incomparable lifetime achievements. No matter what happens thereafter, nobody can challenge his preeminent position in badminton history for many years, if not decades, to come. Personally, I'm glad that Lin Dan chose to continue and today he is at the Rio Olympics gunning for a three-peat, itself an amazing feat whatever the outcome.
Worry not, his last wish (for the Rio Olympics) doesn't necessarily mean dying wish. He's still quite young and will probably outlive the great majority of us here.
As if the BBC decided to put the mens doubles instead of the 2 time Olympic champion.... SMH Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
And now I'm watching Lee Chong Wei play a practice match on BBC... Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
I think he let it get to him. LCW is world class but he (Opti) made far too many errors. Chong Wei didn't really have to work too hard for the points. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Can someone explain why lin dan and chen long have to play 3 matches in the group while all the other players only has to play 2matches?isnt it unfair?
They both get a bye in the next round... Hope u got the answer... By the law of draws seed no.1 ll play 2 in the group and gets a bye Seed no.2 ll play 3 in the group and gets a bye Seed no.3/4 ll play in the group and gets a bye...
