If I remembered correctly LD also trashed LCW in the last set of AG 2014.

For an event as big as Olympics, only player with the strongest mental to handle the big and overwhelming pressure could prevail. And only LD that has proven he could do it twice as a solid guarantee he could do it for the one last time.

When it comes to Olympics, it comes down to who has the biggest state of MENTAL and mind which LD's already gifted with.

Can anyone confirm when did Morten Frost join BAM as coach? That would be the start of the transition of LCW s play. Anything before that is old play and Hendrawan wasn't really involved as LCW s coach until Frost took over.

Okay I know that a lot of things have been said in this forum continuously about who should win the MS gold medal. Wow it is rather controversy too at times to say it.

So I would prefer to keep mum and silent about it first and then watch the match myself to determine who is the winner.

Okay here is the answer. Morten Frost join in March, 2015. yes you are correct. Both have certainly helped a lot to improve LCW skills.

In his interview, he said: "Since I was taken under Hendrawan and Tey Seu Bock’s wing, my attacks have been faster and my strokes are more unique. I can see my opponents threatened by the new weapon. "

    That was Nov. 27, 2015. http://www.themalaymailonline.com/sports/article/chong-weis-new-weapon-no-longer-a-secret
He also said, "One coach during a tournament is not enough. I need one coach to analyse my game while the other observes the opponents".

Supposedly, he could get his wish this Olympics - 2 coaches to watch over him (Frost and Hendrawan?).

Srikanth will beat LD in quartters.
Srikanth will beat LCW in semis.
Srikanth will beat CL in finals.

Nope, everyone has an equal chance.
Don't think Djokovic expected himself to lose in the first round.
Juan Martin Del Potro was ranked 145.

Just like talk is cheap, it costs nothing to dream, and dreams give hope whether false or possible, so dream on.
As vindication, it's not just looking at the final outcome but, more importantly, how the match is played and won or lost, in my opinion.

Apart from Lin Dan and Chen Long, other players stand no chance when they face LCW. On the other hand, LD allows other players to beat him unless it is a big game like Olympics. I have a feeling that LD actually has better match fitness after he played SK yesterday. Unless LD has problem of stamina, LD is still most likely the one who get into Final. I just hope LD can show us two more times of his old styles and his 5th gear which is beautiful to watch.

Interesting. Looking at past trends, the odds are against top-seeds winning gold, except lin dan in 2008.

Can lcw create a breakthrough or will the trend persist...?

very hard, even LCW manage to beat Lin Dan in SF, but if face Chen Long in Final is even harder as I watched Chen Long play against Son Wan Ho is like he completely godlike mode, no mistake at all...

Tbh, i haven't had the chance to catch the MS matches.

If CL is in top form, lcw's road to gold will be more challenging

    I really don't want a China:China final.

For everyone that voted LCW, I don't think we've been watching the same matches with LD and LCW. Don't you find it just a little odd that LD would go 20-15~17, and then 'woopsie suddenly lose the match'. I think they were drawing out LCW's best; LCW is beyond his prime play ability. He's recovered since his hiatus, but nowhere near to his previous standard.

If it's China v China, LD takes gold. There's no way China would pass up the opportunity as a team to get 3 consecutive golds with one athlete. Massive accomplishment for the team and the country.

Not bad to have MF on the sideline,, he wasn't the great technical player, but he was a master mind in mental games...
Even as a Dane-undersigned I wish LCW will win the gold, he deserve it as one of the greatest players and a true gentlemen in this sport
LD already got his gold,, phenomenal fantastic player<<≥≥ the other players are still more or less young and still have plenty time to prove they deserve that piece of OL gold

It's gonna be interesting to see; I saw Axelsen vs Ouseph and it wasn't Axelsen's A-game by a long shot. I hope Axelsen has more in the bag than that. His match against Chen Long last time was INCREDIBLE, so seeing him come up against CL again could be interesting. I think LD will take the match against LCW. Either way, LCW has a hard bracket to play. I think LCW would win against Axelsen in a final, but I'm not so sure about CL. Despite his previous victories, we don't know if CL has more in the bag prepared for Rio.
