The only clash which doesn’t involve Chinese player will pit former world champion Ratchanok Intanon v London OG bronze medalist Saina Nehwal, this should be a big match tomorrow.

The youngsters shine here, Anthony Ginting eliminated Indian promising talent, Sameer Verma. Jeon Hyeok Jin who raised his profile as one of upcoming stars overcame Vietnamese veteran Nguyen Tien Minh then Heo Kwang Hee, came from behind, after painful losing first game with sudden-death scoreline, 29-30, this former world junior champion overpowered Chinese Wang Zhengming in next two games, Wang retired at 11-2 of deciding game due to injury. I think we could do without the first MS on tv court. The MD on display is also so-so. The rest is promising. I wonder how LXR will play. It is a very touchy situation.

Is it still possible for WSX to reach rank no 5 by 21July?

If WYH wins against TTY tomorrow, can WYH drop to rank no 3 or 4 by 21 July?

The two WS and WD matches are worth watching - Saina and May rivalry is as good as it gets. And it would be interesting to see if China find a solution to the Matsutomo/Takahashi problem ..... of course, not for Olympics but for future domination.

Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi vs Bao Yixin/Chen Qingchen should be good.

Saina vs RI would be another worth watching.

Really like this Malaysian XD pair GO/CHAN.(and I'm not a fan of XD in general)The girl is so good at the net, very skillful, and GO has a very strong smash, very quick around the court. They won G1 quite comfortably.Hope they go further

Heo Kwang Hee seems unfamiliar with Kidambi's game.

Totally agree with you. I am also not a great fan of XD but a great fan of MD (LYD / YYS) of course. But then this Malaysian XD pair really caught me by surprise because they can really play very well. Look at how Goh Liu Ying good net play, skillful and strong smash really amazed me. Plus Chan Peng Soon is good too. He just got that powerful smash and attack. Really a joy to watch. But then I am always a great fan of Ko Sung Hyun / Kim Ha Na. Anyway congratulations to Chan / Goh for playing so well to win their XD match today.
