Some marathon men's singles matches who involved seeded players happened at opening round. Chinese ace Lin Dan was forced to play extra game before he eliminated former world junior champion Zulkiffli, also his compatriot Tian HW pushed hard effort to dispose Lee DK. A thrilling duel pitted 7th seed Chou TC against Korean number one Son WH also Danish Thomas Cup hero Vittinghus who lost narrowly to Wang ZM in very tight match. The world number four Viktor Axelsen was retired, hinted the young Dane not in good condition. Home hopeful Tommy Sugiarto tumbled to the tricky Wei Nan also Anthony Ginting once again was defeated by Jorgensen. Tomorrow's last sixteen will see Indonesia upcoming star Jonatan Christie to challenge his idol Lin Dan. Another high-ranked shuttler Lee CW and Jorgensen will take on Hong Kong hurdle, Angus Ng KL and Vincent Wong WK respectively.

Women's singles last sixteen will eye two big matches tomorrow, the two-time world champion Carolina Marin will up against Japan teen wonder Akane Yamaguchi who beat her in SIN Superseries last April. The reigning Olympic Champion Li Xuerui who displayed sluggish performance at opening round will find familiar opponent, Tai Tzu Ying. China has guaranteed 1 quarterfinal berth through Wang SX v He BJ and may add more slots through Sun Yu and 2011 champion Wang Yihan who's expected to pass local hope Febby Angguni and Danish number one Line Kjaersfeldt respectively. Indonesia young talent, Fitriani has tough task to go further in this tournament, she has three-time winner Saina Nehwal next.

Top-seed Lee/Yoo will take on another local pair to chase last eight spot, new sensation Gideon/Sukamuljo after the world number one thrashed Pratama/Suwardi convincingly. The world champion Ahsan/Setiawan took revenge over HKG pair Or/Tang and Conrad/Kolding will be their next rival, a rematch of just concluded Thomas Cup Final. Boe/Mogensen succeeded to pass Li/Liu and the energetic Japanese pair Kamura/Sonoda may trouble them tomorrow.

Japan women's doubles witnessed setback at first round as their two pairs, current SUI Open winner Matsuo/Naito also 2015 WC bronze medalist Fukuman/Yonao got early exit, lost to home pairs. World number one, Matsutomo/Takahashi are expected to check into last eight. An upset was created by Chinese potential partnerships Huang YQ/Tang JH who stunned 5th seed Pedersen/Juhl in rubber games. Two China leading combinations, Tian Q/Zhao YL and Tang YT/Yu Y should have no serious trouble to go further into next round. While local favourite Maheswari/Polii will start their campaign tomorrow to face Malaysian duo, 2014 Incheon AG bronze medalist, Vivian Hoo/Woon KW.

Mixed doubles top-four seeds are predicted to overcome their second round opponents. Host Indonesia once again will rely on the best combination Ahmad/Natsir to hunt the title after current All England champion Jordan/Susanto suffered unexpected defeat on Tuesday but some of back-up pairs scored good result.

For TV court, the XD choice is a bit strange. Perhaps an occasion to see new interesting players?
WS is not the best of the matches of the day. I agree that CM vs AY or LXR vs TTY would have been better. But I suppose local players were given the best spot.
