An excellent result for Alfian Eko Prasetya/Annisa Saufika, beating the Adcocks in rubber-sets. They also have a good draw against Jacco Arrends/Selena Piek for a place in the QF.

Yeah, surprisingly, Chen Long withdrew despite being in Jakarta already.

First upset of the day. The famed Adocks Chris and Gabrielle losing to the unseeded pairing of Alfian Eko and Annisa from Indonesia 22-24, 21-18, 16-21. This unexpected result should bring cheer to the Indonesian camp.

I think it is very good to have the tournament on 7 days and use 3 courts at the most because at least 2/3 of the matches can be watched.

Incredible match between Febby and Yippy. Yippy maintained a sizeable lead in G2 until 16-12 when Febby took the next 9 points to force a decider. In the decider, Yippy got a huge lead with 12-2, but Febby edged a 21-19 win in the end.

Ki Gi Jung just played his XD match, so I hope there isn't anything seriously wrong Kim Sa Rang.

As for Chen Long, I had actually expected to see Chen Long start dropping in/out of tournaments much sooner so that he can share WR1 & 2 with Lin Dan and let Li Yongbo meet his KPI of Chen Long vs Lin Dan in a "double-insured" MS final...

Or, it could be something happened with Kim Gi Jung while he was playing XD as well.

After the high of winning the All England title Jordan/Debbie's performance has suffered. Now a first round loss to the chinese pair of Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong.

Wow, I've never seen Sun Yu so aggressive and proactive, trading blow for blow with Intanon, and defending better than before, coming out on top in the end.

Surprisingly, another R1 exit for Intanon, the last time to Sayaka Sato.
