love char siu. i remember the good old days when i used to hang out in my mom's office and she give me money and i will go across the street to buy a pound of char siu and i just chow down the whole thing.

burned a bit char siu seems to be harder to find these days. perhaps people are aware of the studies that shows burned food is a source of carcinogen.

Just watched the replay and the scene at the very end where the Malaysian team left their seats, I think the agony will last for days or even weeks. They came so close and I felt that they had a really good chance against Indonesia.

Eating those hamburgers and who knows what kind of meat they grind into them...go figure McDonald, AW and Dairy Queen can sell combo for $7 and still makes $$$. So, I take burnt Char Siu and take my chances. My parents used to run a noodle restaurant in KL and after school, all 4 of us would help my parents run the business, of course no pay and we never think about asking anyway, and my mom would gave us the burnt char siu and today we are still here.

CHN out and KOR out, then Den without JOJ, what a dream match-up as if someone up there arrange for this match and still these 2 chaps still find a way to screw it all up. I still cannot believe it.

Deja vu for him as he lost to Kento Momota last time too playing no.2, now at no.3 he had even more pressure ;).

Next Thomas Cup will he be no.1 or no.2 or no.0 ending up like Daren Liew and Kuan Beng Hong?

    what lovely story.

i have similar one. my mom runs a small broker company and back in the 80s when trades still involve after market exchange of paper stock certificate we would go deliver these stacks and stacks of stock certificate as summer job. we sometimes carries papers that's worth tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollar to and from different brokers.

and then we get our char siu. :)

Malaysia has time and time again consistently dissapoints. Useless players who always unable to deliver should be axed.

If this is the quality of the players in the future, Malaysia will never achieve great things

And be replaced by even more useless players?

Malaysia has never been a major sporting nation. Appreciate the small victories that come once in a long while.

Not burnt black thingie...slightly heated up a bit with some char on the meat, and lots of sugary coating.
I know it is bad stuff like Kwun said but life is short, a bit of moderation and a little indulgence here and there, along with some red wine and that will kill it. Now go to Chinatown and get a pound like Kwun and enjoy and don't forget the red wine:D

Probably it's that burnt char siew that keeps you going until now. Good foundation. Give us the recipe.

For me, when I had my first pay, I bought a chicken drumstick. Asked for a whole piece, not cut and sat at the little corner and it was heaven.
We only had meat on festive seasons unlike now where you can have chicken rice or char siew rice everywhere and anytime.

    1. Iskandar
    2. Soo Teck Zhi or Cheam June Wei
    3. got 2 tall players right now (Lim Chi Wing, Lee Zhi Jia)

That's somebody's wishful thought. But LCW would need to formally retire to avoid paying fine for not playing in Superseries Premier and Superseries.
