A great X from Claerbout to lead 21-20.
And the Frenchman won G1 when LD hits wide.

Now how to believe this? Now how can this be? Lucas won the first set 22-20. I must be dreaming.

Good for Clearbout. Took the first game 22-20. Hope he takes the match in two. Otherwise no chance.

What on earth? LD lost the first game...

But credit to the French, he played a good game.

I hope some of the French players can gain some valuable experience here. We need some good players from Europe from countries other than Denmark, Germany and England. Good thing most of them are still relatively young.

So far a lackadaisical Lin Dan whereas Lucas simply plays his heart out, nothing to lose, nothing to fear; all the pressure is on Lin Dan now.

The player who gave him the nick "Super Dan" is now teaching others how to dismantle him.

But Lucas should know better than to hit to LD's forehand.

Only if he wins, I guess. But nevertheless, taking a set against LD is a great achievement, especially for a non-asian, outside of the top 10-player.

Lee Dong Keun is given a scare in the first set winning in just a whisker 22-20. Now second set tough fight 5 all.

Well, yesterday Lin Dan was still involved in a commercial activity, a variety program with celebrities which Wang Xiaoli also took part with him and he was reported to be having a sore throat. If that's how he's going to play. his form, I don't think Li Yongbo has confidence in fielding him as MS1 for this Thomas Cup.

Poor Lucas has overspent himself. He is hitting out a few times now, a sign of fatigue. He must pace himself well now to win.
