Though I used to have a soft spot for Wang Zhengming - reality is cruel, and he's been given many chances by Li Yongbo and coaches already - I'd drop him for Huang Yuxiang. In that case, Xue Song can move up to MS4 and that should leave Team CHN with more options to strategise, particularly at the group stage. For example, CHN can rest either Lin Dan or Chen Long, allowing Xue Song to play MS3 or even MS2, resting Tian Houwei as well, with Huang Yuxiang given a rare but precious opportunity to do duty at MS3. Such a move is good, maybe necessary if not essential, for CHN to prepare their promising new blood for the future by putting them to the test on the big occasions albeit not at the knockout stage. Happily for CHN, at the All England Xue Song made his breakthrough while at the just concluded New Zealand GPG, it's Huang Yuxiang's turn to prove his worth. However, there's still quite some way to go for these two to challenge the top rung, what better way to temper them and force to grow up quickly than to throw them into the thick of action when they could face precarious situations, a sort of baptism of fire.

Uh two interesting doubles combinations!! Zheng Siwei one if not the fastest upcoming player with the tall thunderous Hong. This could work awesome or just look go wrong (but they obv they tried it in practise...). Should be a funny picture. Hong and his kid I also like the combo TJH/CQ. I'm quite disappointed that TYH rarly gets the chance to shine. Would have been maybe even better if TQ stayed with TYH for the qualification period imo. Hopefully both combos get the chance to play!!

IF only Xue Song weren't injured, then MS3 would be his, substantially strengthening CHN's grip on the Thomas Cup. Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen assuming the role of MD2 is fine as MD3 is seldom needed unless due to unforeseen circumstances, in which case Hong Wei/Zheng Siwei's scratch pairing is an unknown quantity.
