The first two sets of today's match at 2016 Badminton Asia Championships were pretty good, I thought.

Don't know what happened in the decider.

WC 2011 & Olympic 2012 is the most epic battle, where LCW almost able to win but prevailed by LD...

IMO every match of them is unique and you see always two great athletes which go to their borders and above. Every match has great rallies, entertainment aspects and is a joy to watch. If I must say which is my favorite, it would be always the upcoming...

Love the commentary in the 2008 NBC broadcast.

Lin Dan looks so young there. Or maybe it's just the lack of facial hair lol.

I have finally watched the 2008 Olympics final. Before that, I kept hearing people say, "Lin Dan was very aggressive in his younger days." "2008 was his peak" Blah blah blah.
I mean, I have watched his other matches pre-2008, like the 2004 All England, 2005 All England, 2006 All England. Aggressive? Yes. Impressive? Not really.
    So, first game in...
What? This is the Lin Dan you guys have been praising? It's not that different from, say, his 2004 AE final, in terms of aggressiveness. Still an enjoyable game to watch, though.
    Second game in...
Wow! This must be it! Now I know what you have been talking about!

I thought I was the only one who noticed this. Yes, he was fast. Yes, he did smash more often and harder. But the Olympics 2008 MS final is not even in my Top 5 of the LD vs. LCW encounters. Without wanting to take away LD's impressive performance, one has to consider that LCW did not play very well, which has also been mentioned by the commentators.

The smashes and net kills LD hit were the result of LCW's horrible shot quality that day. I mean, look at his blocks (way high over the net) and his lifts (midcourt?)...

And yes, I do think LD and LCW were considerably faster at the Olympics 2012. I watched the two Olympic finals in a row (in reverse order) and found the pace to be slightly higher at the Olympics 2012.
