Lots of exciting matches awaiting tonight so here goes another sleepless night today. But it is okay although I still need to work early in the morning tomorrow. I have learn how to keep up and survive watching midnight and wee morning hours matches. I have been watching live matches throughout the night till next day morning then go and work so I guess it will work.

I'm not questioning why CBA said no, I'm questioning why they had a say in this at all.

Cai Yun is technically employed by the government, so that's probably why.

Because the national organisations are in charge of entering players to tournaments:

As Boe indicates, this has always been a point of contention. BWF members consist of the national organisations and not the players.

That's exactly my point. Having everything handled by the member association for an individual sport doesn't make any sense. Maybe it made sense 20 years ago but I see no valid reason for it today.

CBA pays for all of Cai Yun's expense, his training, stipend, food, lodging. It makes sense for CBA to have a say when, where, and whom he plays with.

However, for someone who is truly independent, who finances his own training, then I don't see any reason why CBA should stop him/her from playing with anyone.

or maybe CBA don't want someone who is kind and nice like Cai Yun to get influenced by Boe, and then come home to tell his coaches to go home and get new glasses.

I thought he retired from the national setup. If he really still is part of it then it is like my boss saying "You can't take Fridayy off." For this case CBA's intervention might be justified but they potentially have the power to prevent any independent player from participating in any international tournament.

    That's a good one! :D
But hopefully influence would rub off the other way-round and the onion might start smelling more like a rose.

I don't understand the motive behind CBA. It would be a fair game to anyone. They would pose just as much threat to other pairs as it would to the Chinese. Better yet, they could force Cai to throw a match in a Chinese encounter.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I suppose the CBA is aware of the example it would set.

Everything looks fine for Mogensen, at least normal life should be no problem.

That is amazing to see Mogensen recovers so quickly. I wish he could return to professional badminton soon. Boe/Mo is an interesting factor adds to the game, regardless of their attitude.
