WY fighting for her life here. She still has some of the best cross court smashes in the business

4/6 of WYH's points have been cross drops to NO's backhand though, exactly the same shot. It might have to be perfect, but I wouldn't say they necessarily have to be perfect smashes. :) The fifth was a cross net shot. WYH probably shouldn't focus on smashes at all considering how she's getting her points.

NO is smashing too much with no yields. I am concerned.

And at the same time I am also glad that the Korean WD lose so they need not be grilled by the China WD tomorrow.

So it is already confirmed now. All China finals for MS and WD.

Nozomi will win this game for sure. The match will end soon and I need to get to my office to work already.

Incredible from Okuhara! The thing that's most improved since I started noticing her is her racket skills. She has some incredible deception too now! As good as what RI used to have.

Exactly, she used to be just a runner, but she has developed some nice deception skills, and is much better at the net than she used to be

Oh wow once again congratulations to Nozomi Okuhara for winning this match. Looks like Japan have plenty of good WS. Way to go. Now the WS match will be more exciting with different nationalities China, Chinese Taipei, Spain and Japan.

I seriously don't know how good Okuhara would be if she was another 5-10cm taller. But perhaps she wouldn't be so quick on her feet if she was taller. Say she was 5-10cm taller and maintained everything she has now - she'd be winning all tournaments easily.

I never thought we'd see Xue Song and Tian Houwei at this stage! LD-XS will be a nice semi, but LD-TianHW will be a match I'll skip perhaps. Great for Hans to be in the semis as well, but honestly Hans-Tian is not a program to dream about.

Another thing that has improved is her ability to attack. She's really the complete package now, and will be a top Gold medal contender at the Olympics.

Okay a summary here all the XD, WS and MD matches are set to be so exciting with players from different nationalities except for the WD and MS match dominated by China.

Hm the thing is I think that her "smallness" is what motivated her to work so much HARDER than anyone else
