Amazing way to conclude G1. Momota wins G1 21-19. A pretty tight affair

Alas too tired for me now. Stayed up the whole night didn't sleep again. Then need to get ready to go and work already. Guess I need to take a short 15 minutes nap now before going to work. Likely to miss my favourite WD match at court 2 later. Oh No....

That's where JOJ used all his energy up and fell into the trap. How many times have we seen this over last couple of years. And it is so effective! That Sho Sasaki guy couldnt even breath in game 2 and 3. Welcome to the new Lin Dan.

LD must respect his own age. If he plays now like a pre 2008 era, he might badly injure himself. So i guess current strategy is the best suited for him.

I believe the best of LD comes out while playing only against CL. Only CL is his real threat....Lets wait to see how the things unfold at the Olympics :)

If he uses this game plan for the Olympics he will not win a gold medal. He can wait forever till Chen Long or even LCW loses his breath.

One thing I've noticed is that LD hasn't used his round-the-head full power smash (or even half-smash) a lot lately. It's like he wants his opponents to forget about this weapon of his and I suspect that he will use this at the Olympics like he did in the past - full guns blazing. Remains to be seen if he can keep up that attacking play against the likes of Chen Long, Lee Chong Wei, Viktor Axelsen, Kento Momota and so on.

Tian Houwei with the short lead but at the expense of a whole lot of energy spent rallying with Momota

Wow interesting matches ahead. the match for court 2 dragged on again. Hope Tian Houwei will quickly win the match so that I can watch the WD matches later.

Is it just me or is Momota playing like he doesn't realise Tian is also left-handed? He keeps giving clears to Tians forehand, having to deal with clear after clear to his own backhand in return. Whenever the shuttle is on his forehand he crosses to give it back to Tian...

Tian Houwei with a two point advantage at the midgame interval in game three.

Momota slowly losing his patience and getting annoyed by THW rallying style of play. Errors creeping in now.
