The worse part here is no challenge is allowed. If not because of that wrong line call Goh Soon Huat should be the winner for today. Sad to say till today BWF still let such things happen in badminton tournament.
Justin L I guess I won't dwell too much into the wrong line call as it can be very controversial issue. But then I must say I am amazed by Goh Soon Huat sporting spirit. Play on despite injury and then lose the game due to controversial and wrong line call. If this happened in Olympics 2016 I cannot imagine the outcome.
In the first place I don't think they can be more powerful than LCW. So you should motivate them with more positive encouragements. You can see unseeded Goh SH almost beat SK #1! If more Malaysians were there to cheer Goh on (positively), he might even create an upset!
Yup... MD XD WD.. Still a long way to go for the Indians. Sporadic surprises here and there is all we could expect.
Oh tough fight now for the Korean versus Japan MD at court 3. The Koreans won the first set 21-19 then the Japanese won the second set 21-19. Can't wait to see who will win this match.
Goh seems good potential. But so did Iskandar last week. Iskandar probably thrived on home advantage and todays condition probably suited Goh's style of play. I am no more a big Srikanth fan as I used to be but the top 10 guys are in top 10 because they have consistently performed all around the world. Would like to see this kind of consistency from Iskandar and Goh in the future. In the meanwhile, LCW CL and LD are still the ones to be beaten!
Justin L Sorry to say I miss the match of Shi Yuqi just now. Can you update me with how he won the match. I just checked the score and found out that he won the match 21-14 21-11. I think this player has a bright future. To be honest I was a bit upset and down after the wrong line call just now that it affected my mood. But its okay for me now.
Kim Gi Jung / Kim Sa Rang is going to win the match today I guess. They are leading the third set 21-8. Go... go... win don't give up.
So happy today. Finally Kim Gi Jung / Kim Sa Rang won their match today and will advance to play in the semi finals tomorrow. Congratulations.
You can watch it at your own time here (use an extension to change the proxy,if necessary) http://livestream.com/accounts/6523598/gpglucknow2016court2 Nothing beats seeing the match yourself. Enjoy. As for GSH, after seeing how visibly upset he was by the umpire's overrule, I thought he would be rattled and lost as usually happened to most players, but he surprised me by regaining his composure and fighting on well, almost winning the the match. Actually, I only managed to start watching from G3, so had no idea how he came from far behind to equalize with G2; that , and the way he played the decider, proves he is a fighter with steady nerves. Every time there's a controversial linecall or overrule, it shows us how necessary and important the Hawk-Eye Instant Review System is. No way can we ever do without it in the future, really hope the IRS becomes a standard feature in all tournaments one day when the technology gets better and more affordable as I believe it will.
Yes you are right. Thanks for your explanation. By the way Korean performance off late certainly didn't augur well with their preparations for Olympics 2016. Just to let you know Goh Soon Huat is the player with good mental strength and he plays on despite the odd stacking against him.
So good to see both players playing to their level best. Currently Huang Yuxiang is leading the match 11-8.
