    Marin survived, Nehwal out

The knock-out stage draw has been conducted last night, some shuttlers once again will meet their group stage opponent => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draws.aspx?id=CA160B94-64E2-4C8A-8E18-9E269E9A46EB

Two Danish MS players finished as runner-up of their respective group, interesting semifinal clashes this evening. Two-time champion, Chen Long is drawn to face rising star Viktor Axelsen, they have met four times in this year and the young Dane will be motivated to score his first ever winning over the Chinese ace this time. Group B winner Kento Momota will be tested by world number two Jan O Jorgensen, a possibly tight contest here as the last two meetings finished in three games

What a turnaround in women's singles category as Indian jewel Saina Nehwal missed opportunity to book semifinal ticket after bounced back to overcome reigning world champion earlier. Nehwal lost three games to last year champion Tai Tzu Ying despite took first game convincingly. This result made her rival Carolina Marin through to last four. The left-handed Marin once again will take on Nozomi Okuhara who tamed two-time world champion yesterday while Thailand youngster Ratchanok Intanon has tough hurdle, Wang Yihan. A limping head to head for these two players as the tall Chinese always beat her in eleven meetings.

The same story repeats for Men's Doubles discipline, reigning world champion Ahsan/Setiawan will challenge defending champion Lee/Yoo, a tough task considering sluggish performance by the Indonesians. Another title-contender Boe/Mogensen is favoured to eliminate Chinese number two pair Chai/Hong as they did yesterday unless the Chinese players have another game plan to overcome the vast-experienced Danish pair.

Women's doubles rematches between title-holder Matsutomo/Takahashi against top-seed Luo Ying/Luo Yu and Danish combo Pedersen/Juhl will try their luck to thwart Indonesian star Maheswari/Polii this time after lost straight-sets yesterday. Japanese top-ranked and Incheon Asian Games gold medalist have slight advantage to book final ticket. Luo twin sisters are Chinese last hopeful in this department due to Zhao Yunlei injury and this pair looks vulnerable against foreign rival.

The Korean duo Ko SH/Kim HN look unstoppable for the moment, they will challenge Australian Open winner Lee CH/Chau HW. Ko/Kim scored perfect result in group stage to knock-out Jordan/Susanto, Fischer/Pedersen and Liu/Bao. The walkover by Zhang/Zhao delivered a surprise outcome for English pair Adcock/Adcock and they capitalise to top group A, defeated Hong Kong pair yesterday, next they will face Indonesian improved combination Jordan/Susanto.

LIVE TV (court 1, 01.00pm local time) matches :

    1) Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong (KOR) v Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (INA)
    2) Chris Adcock/Gabrielle Adcock (ENG) v Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto (INA)
    3) Nozomi Okuhara (JPN) v Carolina Marin (ESP)
    4) Chen Long (CHN) v Viktor Axelsen (DEN)
    5) Ratchanok Intanon (THA) v Wang Yihan (CHN)
    6) Jan O Jorgensen (DEN) v Kento Momota (JPN)

Jordan and Debby are quite consistent in these last 3 or 4 months compare with Lily and Owi.
Its good that finally Jordan and Debby can finally out of their more fancied xd countrymen shadows.
Owi and Butet downhill are concerning but I believe they can resolve whatever issues they are facing.

Jordan and Debby have bad records though vs Adcock combo so wish them very best of luck.

As for Ahsan and Hendra they cant afford to be slow starters and must took the initiative from get go.

Cant believe I have to say after all these year that Ina best chance is actually from WD. My fav Greysia and Nitya must play their normal games and be confident as usual and they should be fine whoever opponents they are facing.

i hope RI's knee, which seems to be bothering her in her last match, won't trouble her this time. It seems that WYH is really motivated against her. RI has no choice but to tighten her game and give no free points.

Very nice to see 6 matches on tv court. The camera work is very good for this tournament, by the way.

Yes, she is much more injured than usual. Just like all of China players. Ultimately it's about who is least injured who wins. That's the logic of some China anyway hehe. Some players only lose if they are injured you see hehe.

Anyway, go Okuhara and Ratchanok! Would be amazing to see these two face off in the final.

Just checked the BWF website and found out that there are 4 different tournaments this week itself. I just finished watching a MD match live for the USA open. Just so happen to watch it because the last match of the MD is being aired live. Managed to catch the match of the Korean WD winning the last match at court 2 too. Wow 4 Korean players will be playing in the finals tomorrow. Congratulations. Sorry a bit off track here. Then went to check the Tata India open website but they didn't even update even yesterday results. What the heck!

Seems like the matches have not started live yet for Dubai Open. It will only start live at 1 pm later Dubai time. Meanwhile while waiting for the live matches to start I am now watching my favourite TVB drama series always ready acted by Ekin Cheng.

Danish combination Pedersen/Juhl turn to be better pair today with their accuracy placement, more aggressive to frustrate Indonesian Maheswari/Polii, 21-17 / 21-12.

Nearly one hour into WD with our favourite Jap pair and only half way through 2nd set. Hope it goes to 3 sets, and breaks the record for longest match ever!

Match point for Luo/Luo. Destiny of the longest match in history is avoided once more.
