remove the original grip and check on the wooden handle. there should be some sort of stamp markings on the handle, such as a date code etc....
Daniellwa: Yes, it looks good and the same pattern as mine. So, it looks like you have got a real one .
Hey guys thanks for all the help.. Really appreciate it.. We had got the racket strung and tried it, and no problem with it..
I have purchased 2 rackets from sportscheck. none of the racket have grommet right at the cross intersection. I have went back to 2 stores and none of the rackets on the shelf have grommet right at the cross intersection. the grommet around the cross intersection is random on all the rackets. I would like to know if the rackets I have purchased from sportscheck are fake or original.
Can you post some pics of your racket ? i have an original and also a clone. there are some other differences besides the grommet at the center of the cross.
bro cool1234...from the pics it looks genuine to me. 2 other things to check. one, run your fingers along the shaft. it should be totally smooth without any of the descriptions feeling like it was embossed i.e. you cant feel them. the other is thing is the centre top of the racket where the groove runs. there shouldnt be any joint right where the 2 centre main string gromments are. (unlike yonex)
I jut bought one at 50$ CAN. So it must be a fake. I have it with RG95@24b and it plays good with plenty of feel and not much vibrations. I am wondering how a "real" one is supposed to feel. The weight is 93g, a bit head heavy, flexible shaft, balance point 314mm from base of handle, using one Yonex OverGrip and RG95. Perhaps the only thing I can see as fake is the head stiffness. If I take only the head and bend it sideways in a twist it will allow a small amount of torsion. I am wondering if the real one does this as well. I know I get what I pay for but I would still like to understand the difference.
Update: ... just changed the string to ZM69F@24. Did a quick in store comparison with a "real" one and I see no difference. So at this point I am stuck with a believable copy. Doubts will remain until I can play a "real" one with similar string. Not likely to happen anytime soon. Paying a cheap price does allow a lot of freedom to modify the racket. So I did just that by adding balsa wood to grip handle to get a better feel. The original grip was for baby hands. I was able to also increase the overall length of the racket to 682mm with a balance at 303. So it is not at 99-100g with overgrip. This will work nicely in singles. Any tips or ideas are welcome.
Hi there. This is the review I left on aliexpress for one of the fakes sold there for ~$20. I hope it will help you when looking for genuline ones. Honestly saying it's very difficult to see if you cannot compare them directly. "I compared this one with the original from local dealer. Please see the pictures: 1. Genuine bottom, fake above. You can see fake has bolder characters and lack has no pearl finish like in the orig. 2. Genuine is more greyish at the bottom of the head 3. Black stripes at the top are not aligned well in the fake one. 4. Red lack parts in the orig have much more deeper 3D effect. 5. Genuine at the top. Painting takes much more space on the shaft in the fake one . 6. Space between black and red painting at the top is very small in the original one. Performance: I am not pro so it was not so easy to compare. Genuine one was strung with different string type and was stronger so had a slightly different feeling. I have also had the impression genuline one was more head heavy and overall felt stiffer. Dealer also told that this N90iii was generally quite stiff racquet. By hitting both racquets were light and easy in maneouvers. I think you get more power with the genuine one. Summarizing: If fake one survives stringing at real 12kg I'm normally used to, it's still very good racquet for the price and I cannot see a point in paying 10 times more for the original one at amateur level of play."
One important remark. The fake one came also with the scratch anti-counterfeit code on the grip which after checking on Li-Ning site said it was original
Update: I am now sure I have a fake one and I would classify it as "average" comparing it to sub 30$ real rackets. I had the chance to play with it at 24lb and now at 20lb after I broke the string on smash. Here are my impressions : 1- The grommets are stiffer so I think they might break the string faster 2- There is more vibration or lack of feel especially with control shots 3- There is no torsion control so you can twist the racket easily, this has an impact for off-center hi-power shots. 4- The racket is not stiff enough ... as my stringer said "this is a noodle", so you can whip it and For me this racket does the trick, especially as a backup. Comparing it to a Head metallix 2000 it will loose on every shot ... so get it for the paint job or to lend it to you kid sister but it you want a serious tool ... this is not it. (I am sad ... I think I will get a fake FZ2 to see if that one is better, lol) andrewife ... nice photos, ... your fake looks worse than mine. And yes you do need both side by side to compare.
Bro,see your (Cap There)MP Logo there can change Colour,Original racquet will got 2 Colour Dark Green & Purple when u look at differrent angle.
cant even tell if that is the same racket because the attached pictures are so small.. you should just compare it with the ones that one of the members posted above if it is the same racket as that person indicated which one was the fake and which one was the real one based from the one he was able to get a hold of from a local shop. also if that is the same racket i can tell you that the racket isn't supposed to come with that racket case but case doesn't matter too much if you're just mainly concern about the racket itself lols
This may have been more than a year ago, but just as I suspected, the authentication code that comes with the racket can possibly be just copied and reproduced. Li-ning and yonex should make the authentication of their codes a one time only.
An old thread but most likely the "fake" ones with authentication code are original but didnt pass the export quality test.
