Ahh right, sharing hotel rooms would make it a lot cheaper. This quote was from BC's own Christin Tsai
Just watched the most exciting part of G3 from 11 all, when the umpire refused to call a let when a shuttle from an adjacent court landed on Michelle's court causing her to mistime a shot hitting wide. Boos and hisses ensue from the crowd. And it appeared that Michelle was ready to give up when behind by 13-19, but by some luck and much feistiness, she fights back to 20 all and then point by point to 26-24... by which point she totally collapses on the court... https://youtu.be/dIClIQku8Bw
Yes, I think she could have called the tournament referee. On the other hand, I don't see any coach talking to her during break. So she went to Denmark by herself?
I noted she injured her ankle at 4-3 in the rubber and it took her awhile to get comfortable again. And when the shuttle incident happened and nothing was done, she was probably thinking it wasn't going to be her day. Luckily she played on and voila, a nice scalp to claim.
come michelle, we need more talent in the fray without the shrieks and you are one of them. I am rooting for you.
I watched that match. It must have been tough for her all these years, having to play matches by herself without her coach like other players. On the other hand, this could be good training for her mental and strategy building. That match, the umpire seemed inattentive to allow the shuttle on the court for so long without noticing it. In the future, this match/game could only help her.
Somebody knows on how actually Michelle Li manages to have a coach from the Chinese Taipei? During Dutch Open, she was being coached by someone with the shirt showing Chinese Taipei at the back.
