So my default string is 66UM, and I recently tried 66F. I previous tried some Zymax string (can't find the name, it was purple/pink and white, and braided).

I very much prefer the thinner gauge strings, so I figured why not, and have 5 sets of Li Ning No.1 string on the way.

Is anyone using this string, and how does it compare?

So far the only comparisons I've seen are, it's like 66UM with a rougher texture and better durability.

After trying it for a few hours (2 sessions) here are my impressions:

It's indeed rougher than BG66UM - but not by much. That's the only downside (for me) I found; it's not as rough as BG80 for instance, which makes slicing the shots less impressive.
Other than that, it's awesome. Excellent repulsion, nice hard feeling (harder than BG66UM). Can't comment on tension retention or durability that much, but so far it seems okay; better than BG66UM. The sound it makes when you hit a big smash is just unreal.

One of my new favorite strings; I even like it more than BG80. Have to test it against R4X110, if it wins, we have a new No. 1 (pun intended). ;)

I an using it now. 12 kg for a VTZFII LCW 3u. The sound is so crisp! (so high in frequency) that I always thought it will break. I personally like it better than bg 66 um.

I think.. This will be my new go to string. Let's see how good is the durability.

Tried the bg66 um and didn't like it as much as the bg80 wonder how it feels.

Strangely: I never enjoy bg 80.. Nbg 98 is still my backup.

Ok I love big 80 and keen to try the no. 1. Sadly y father just won't buy me anything and says that it is a waste of money and I can just play with two piece rackets. After I bought my arcsaber fb I could not buy anything else.:crying: If he plays badminton, he would know why I want that 80 etune so badly.:( Never mind I am still gonna try the no.1 string anyway.

That might have been an Ashaway string but I'm pretty sure there's never been a Zymax in that colour.

This string is among my fave ones, other than 66UM, Force and 98. But word of caution - certain rackets doesn't seem to match with the string. When I played with this string on JS 10 (3U and 4U), it feels like there is a "blowback" effect from it - like when you fire a shotgun with one hand.

Think I'll have to get some to try when I'm in HK, my usual string is BG 66UM. Charlie-SWUK, out of curiosity where did you order the Li Ning No. 1 string from in the UK?

Thanks!

What's the durability like? I've played with 66 Forces and pop them quite easily, sometimes the same with 66 ultimax's. I've been interested in ordering some for a while.

It's been compared favourably to R4X110, so I was never not going to try it... I hope Winstons put a set in with my Ahmad!
