I'm with you. Everything else aside, just the scheduling alone is wrong, unfair (perhaps an oversight on the part of the organizer). ZN's two semifinal matches were on different courts, if not for the BWF ruling, he wouldn't even have the minimum 30-minute break between the two, and he was the only player affected, the disadvantage when he began the MD match was undeniable, never mind the fact that it was his own doing competing in two events in the same tournament, not to mention back-to-back tournaments at that.

Would you say the same if Zhang Nan were an INA player ? Be honest.

China already did to lyd, what korean did to zhang nan 7 years ago in China Open super series.

LYD play 2 match in the final. But he doesn't play in the first games.

don't cry to much baby. China get what they deserved.

And I hasten to add, how come ZN's second match, the MD, had to start minutes after he finished the first, XD if not for the BWF ruling ?

Who is talking about 1st class service or special treatment for him (alone), do you even know what you're talking about, kruntil ?

Get your facts right. You are comparing apples with oranges. The example you gave occurred on Finals day where scheduling one as the second match while the other as the fifth isn't uncommon as only one court is used, of course, unlike the semifinals where two courts are available simultaneously, not two different sesions.

i said: 2nd and 5th match is good enough.

of course. why not? that's the risk playing in 2 discipline.

What the korean organisers did is not illegal according to the rules but I think ethically it was wrong. They definitely knew what they were doing when they scheduled the games on two different courts and didn't put them 1st and last. It made no sense to put the MD match on Court 2; why on earth was the other Mens singles SF on Court 1 when there is no Korean player there?

    They played dirty.

the organisers do not know how long the matches will end. they do not know it will be straight set or rubber set

you want zhang nan's matches to be put in 1st and 5th on tv court. that's 1st class service.

I agree it is not the best for ZN, and perhaps unfair. But I think some members got carried away, talking badly against Korea as a country, or Victor as a company, etc. It is too much, ZN was tired not only because he played two close match, but because he was tired already at the beginning of the tournament (or even during the last one).

Common guyz!! Once done can't be reverted.. Of course it was wrong but talking about it time and again will only make it sour!! ZN is free to concentrate on XD only and can make sure to beg at least one title unlike last week.. Who knows had he won today(MD also) and winning XD and posing on the podium playing 2nd match of the day (just few hours later) might have pulled a hamstring or femur fracture... Whatever happens happens for good...
    Peace

So I am coming here to clear the air now. Quell all rumours. Remember what happened in Incheon Asia games? It was said that people will not remember how many gold medals Korea won but they will remember how Korea cheat to win. The name o the game was even changed to Incheat Asia games.

The organizer is not a newbie hosting the KOR Open for the first time, they should know better to plan for contingencies, unforeseen events or prevent undesirable incidents from happening.

Whether ZN's two matches should be 1st and 5th or 2nd and 5th is not the main point of the argument nor the real issue of contention - you have committed a straw man fallacy.
