This is a BWF matter to look into.

LCW's loss to a former WJC ,Heo Kwang Hee albeit narrowly is a shocker, presumably the worst result in his entire career excluding his initial foray in the senior circuit. Hope he's not injured, unwell or something.

Perhaps the prospects of having to play 7 rounds (2 in the qualies) instead of 5 if he was in the main draw to win the title despite avoiding CL and LD before the final is unappealing to him.

Looks like VA's chances of advancing to another SS final are good. As for Lin Dan, I think he may not push himself too hard here in view of his current condition and that it is a back-to-back SS, not wanting to risk any injury during the Olympic cycle (even the younger WS, Marin and Saina, withdrawn to concentrate on just one of the two),somewhat fatigued, and suchlike considerations. We'll see.

Personally, I don't believe Tian HW and Wang ZM are willing to let Lin Dan have it without a fight, bearing in mind LYB has stated clearly the other week that Lin Dan has to earn his Olympic ticket by dint of performance and results, including ranking, to justify his selection. Same goes for the two aforementioned.

Exactly, if what blabl says is true, so widespread, ingrained and blatant, then, assuredly, BWF is duty-bound to do something about it and not let such unsavoury practices bring the sport a bad name and threaten its place in the Olympics.

Agree with CantSmashThis, there should be at least a 30-minute break in between two matches involving the same player. Qualifiers are already disadvantaged at having to play two rounds in a day, sometimes finishing the second match very late, and those who qualified to the main draw may be up against a seeded player to boot - the odds are clearly stacked against them, the more so for veterans past 30.

Though costs consideration is a major concern for the organizers, I strongly feel some adjustments or improvements can be made to minimize the impact and create a more level playing field.

    Thanks blabl for that post!!
Well how can we forget when our own near and dear Sarita Devi was prevented from a place in the finals of Incheon AG boxing SF... Which she should have won unanimously but just because she was competing against a Kor local hope she was denied and sentenced to stay happy with the bronze. And moreover when protested was complimented with a year ban.... And now that very KOR chief praising Indian Boxing in conferences... This world is really full of hypocrites

Both - Lee Chong Wei and Tago - not keen on meeting and exerting themselves in the qualifying, that's why they lost. (just kidding)

I can understand that. This result is a shocker, if he was really trying.
