Wow, the Danes extend their H2H record over the apparently great Z/Z 10-8. How can Z/Z be the greatest if they can't even dominate a pair of their generation? (In tennis, Nadal is arguably one generation before). In fact, this Danish pair aren't even that "great" - pretty sure they've never even won a major?

The problem is CHN MD has a pressing need of a pair to deliver the goods and ZN/FHF seems their best bet so far, perhaps that's why LYB relented to ZN's repeated request to play two events.

Hehe, not a hater. Just a really strange fact. Just like in tennis. It's the only reason why Federer will never be considered the GOAT. Same goes for Z/Z I guess.

    Haha! True.

If you see the Z/Z head to head, they have only lost some 30 matches since they started playing together in 2010, and have positive head to head against all pairs.

This danish pair is the only exception.

The CHN MD match later may be in jeopardy. We'll see.

By the way, great finals line-up. Haven't really paid much attention to this tournament, as it's a bit anti-climatic since the World Champs. But nice match-ups now. Only potentially disappointing match-up is the all-Japan final - I'm a fan of Japanese badminton in general, but it's never the same watching a final when both participants are from the same country. It feels like a sparring match, rather than an international tournament final.

Perhaps if they win Rio 2016 and win the next 3 matches against the Danes. Then they will be complete.

On the other hand, Lin Dan has to be the GOAT - he's got no genuine holes I can think of. The only thing is that he's never won in Malaysia and has never won an Indonesian tournament, despite participating in a lot of them. But those are very minor things.

Won in Malaysia Mr...Yep about Indonesia he said something to this extent

"In Indonesia,I can't even see the shuttle properly...It's like giving IIT exam in that noise..Hope they can build proper badminton stadium one day''..

OK,I admit i put some words to his mouth but the general conclusion was the same

Two of my favourite WS players now. I predicted 2 years ago that Yamaguchi (after watching her live as a 16 year old) would be top 10 within a year (I was out by about 2 months I think...not bad, considering all the ridicule this forum gave me for making that statement hehe). I've since become a big fan of Okuhara though - hope she wins the title! She deserves it.

Oh he won Malaysia Superseries? Pretty sure he hasn't, as he said he would come back next year to finally do it.

He's won in Indonesia though - a World Champs. But he's never won an Indonesian tournament I think.

Okuhara is a tough match-up for Yamaguchi I think. Yamaguchi has never taken a set off her.
