Thank you tayarpancit. It is a pity that the organizers of the Vietnam Open left many badminton fans dissatisfied and unhappy with the lack of media information. However, I just noticed that the TS has now been updated.
I'm impressed with MAS's Chong Wei Feng's MS performance so far but his next battle against veteran Lee Hyun Il will be crucial. Upsets created today 1. Despite playing in both WS and WD category throughout the whole tournament, Cheng Chi Ya from Chinese Taipei won over Xue Yao11-21 21-8 24-22 thus creating the biggest upset of the day. the second set of the score shows that Xue Yao is no match for Cheng Chi Ya and proved the match is one sided too. Now as usual China is left with no WS representatives in the semifinals. A very rare case indeed. 2. Chan Peng Soon / Goh Liu Ying won the match today over a seeded no 6 XD today thus creating upset. Yesterday they also created the biggest upset by winning over the XD seeded 2 in the tournament.
Tommy Sugiarto won the first set over Alamsyah Yunus 21-13, second set leading 11-6. Tommy will win for sure.
Upsets created in the XD match today. 1. All the Indonesians have a great start and marched on to the quarterfinals of the tournament. With 4 representatives today hopes are certainly high for them to enter the semifinals. However, sad to say none of the Indonesian XD advanced to the semifinals.
Jongkonphan KITTIHARAKUL / Rawinda PRAJONGJAI won the first set over Komala Dewi / Vita Marissa 21-8. Unbelievable.
You must be happy that Chan Peng Soon / Goh Liu Ying and Chong Wei Feng won today. The problem lies with Koo Kien Keat as he is not that fit anymore. Tan Boon Heong on the other hand is a world class badminton player.
14. Followed by MD Gideon Markus FERNALDI / Kevin Sanjaya SUKAMULJO (4) Indonesia won Malaysia Kien Keat KOO / Boon Heong TAN 21-15, 21-19.
Tough fight of Fajar ALFIAN / Muhammad Rian ARDIANTO (8) Indonesia vs Indonesia Andrei ADISTIA / Hendra Aprida GUNAWAN (2) now. 7-7 first set.
15. Followed by WD Jongkonphan KITTIHARAKUL / Rawinda PRAJONGJAI won the first set over Komala Dewi / Vita Marissa 21-8, 21-16.
That is why I said from the beginning that Jeon Hyeok Jin result has been unreliable. However so much of hype here over this promising youngster. Then sad to say he lost. Okay to be honest he is very lucky to play vs another Korea MS in the third round of the match. If not I think he may not even pass the third round. Lee Hyun Il is still the best bet.
