these are not any sort of predictions, its just i wan't them to win the gold :)

MS: lee chong wei (after literally being out of the competitions for months and working his way back to the finals he deserves to win it more than anyone else, chen long is best at the momnet but i hope lcw wins it before calling it quits)

WS: saina nehwal quite obviously (she has done well so far this year, she needs to keep her calm and everything will fall into its place)

WD: tian/zhao (it would be good for the sport if danes wins it but tian and zhao are just too good)

MD: ahsan/setiawan (the home team to take the gold)

XD: bao/cheng (just because i am a big fan of bao)

I was absolutely estatic yesterday, at the instant the jinx was finally broken... Today I was happy at the final, but was "meh" at Saina's performance....
Dunno how I will react at Gold though....
I was over the moon at Abhinav's Gold; Akhil's conquest of the World Champion on I-Day, but was absolutely numb at our 2nd ICC WC win, since it was my 6th and it came after years of close misses.... Casual impassionate sports fans were celebrating early Diwali that night 2/4/2011... I was just numb.

As far as what "winning silver" is concerned, don't even bother....
Was massively disappointed a fortnight ago when the archers blew two set leads at 2 finals at the FITA WCShips...
Hopefully Saina does better.... Will share the reaction then.

meanwhile. .jan o thinks lcw will win tomorrow. .here's what he told a journalist.

“And then I underestimated Lee Chong Wei and his speed and he’s hungry and you can feel it and he wants this. You need to come up with something special and I didn’t do that.”

Asked for his assessment of Lee Chong Wei’s chances in the final, Jorgensen replied curtly, “I think he’ll win.”

How can anyone explain her qualifying within top 8 in all tournaments, yet falling in the early KO rounds repeatedly....
When Purnima Mahato demanded a psychologist for her, VK Malhotra (one of the CWG scammers and BJP "leader") asked Deepika and the other archers to do yoga. I mean what the !@#$.....

While all our tenured and dynastic parliamentarians are busy raising charges and counter-charges of corruption at every level; when it comes to sports, they prefer looting collectively it seems.

He never had a good record at promoting sports as Gujarat CM....

The only CMs in the last 25 years who did a good job at promoting sports are undoubtedly NCN and to a much lesser extent Bhupinder Hooda.
NCN, an avid and passionate, crazy maniacal sports nut pulled undivided AP out of nowhere to multiple NG wins and created the first official working sports system in our republic;while Hooda unlike any previous Haryana CM (or any CM or Manipur, Kerala or Maharashtra so far) helped the naturally talented Jats to realise their true potential...

The other three states mentioned have a natural sports culture (as did Haryana)... Hopefully they get a Naidu like CM soon.... The case is sadder for Maharashtra, where due to industrialisation sports culture is declining....

Also Karnataka, which has always been good at poaching talent from other states is doing what they do best... There is hope there as well if they get able administrators....

A PM can't run sports policy in India unless the proposed Sports Bill is passed. Operationally it is a state subject. The centre only releases funds and approves awards (although this PMO is showing its own discretion in awards, the first after IG era. Normal protocol is rubber stamping MYAS recommendations, which follow SAI proposals)
