this MD match could be a repeat of WC 2009 of LYD/JJS vs CY/FHF..

Fox, like you, to me Lin Dan is The Greatest Ever with absolute justification - his accomplishments speak volumes, only those in denial refuse to admit it. Even if Lin Dan from now until he retires never wins another major, so what? He has already won so many and to spare, nobody even come close as far as badminton is concerned, well, he can afford to give a couple away, just saying.

The fact that he chose to come back and carry on for a few more years is itself a huge bonus, a great fortune and blessing as it is in my humble opinion, I ask for nothing more from him. Let us enjoy and savour every match he plays, there aren't that many left as time goes by before he hangs up his racquet for good one day.

Momota hasn't even got more than 15 points off Chen Long in a set. No idea why people think he's going to beat Chen Long, who is at his prime.

I know you wern't referring to me. I just felt you were harsh on them. Every one has a right to individuality. No need to conform to a standard. Also this is a global forum where people from all countries interact. I take it as an opportunity to learn and appreciate diversity.

Yeah, but I had sth to say to all you guys as well, so it combined nicely ;) I think this year's WC might be one of the most exciting. Upsets left and right, almost no defending champions left, and for once, LCW and CL dont seem to be head and shoulders above their competitors. Only discipline that leaves me bored is WS, with LXR flaming out yet again, RI sadly getting injured and, after the Saina/Yihan match, 2 supremely boring, 1 super annoying player and the home favorite being left in the running.

No he is a big fan as far as I know. I am a Nehwal fan too, and I guess amongst all Indians in this forum, I am the only non-Nehwal fanatic.

CL showed he is champion material by winning ugly and in tight situations etc. And pretty sure VA had taken a set off CL before, so not surprising it was tight. However, true champions win. Full stop.

He played just like he did since the end of 2014....slow movement, deceptive shots that only fool 2nd tier players, and altogether not the LD that we know from 2003-2013.

Sachin was/is overrated. Don't get me wrong, he is certainly one of the greatest, but certainly not the greatest. In test cricket, I rate Bradman, Sangakkara and Kallis over him. In ODI cricket, I rate Richards, Bevan, de Villiers, and Amla over him. Probably eventually even Kohli and Williamson. I guess Sachin was the greatest at playing the most number of innings hehe.

Too sad. But nice to see JOJ in the semi finals, too. IMO he deserved a spot in the final but let's wait for tomorrow.

I think this thumping defeat is a reality check that Lin Dan has gone too far in his transformation from the 'original' to the 'new' style of game. I believe he will seriously look to making the necessary adjustments, tweak and fine tune his style if not go back to his former dynamic attacking game once in a while when necessary to tackle certain difficult opponents. We'll see, the Rio Olympics is still a year away.
