Upsets, tragic ending coloured last sixteen of this BWF major event. Former world champion Ratchanok Intanon conceded retired, twice WC silver medalist Li Xuerui was sent packing early by Indian #2 P.V. Sindhu. WD top-seed Matsutomo/Takahashi lost surprisingly to the unseeded Malaysian pair Anscelly/Soong FC, another set-back two Chinese WD, Ma/Tang also second seed Luo Twins succumbed to lower ranked pair Go AR/Yoo HW and Fukuman/Yonao respectively.

The quarterfinal will kick off on 11.00am local time (2 courts) and may spring suprise once again for badminton enthusiasts...

Two most anticipated MS clashes will pit CHN leading men v Danish bests, defending champion Chen Long against Viktor Axelsen, a repeat of AUS SS final and badminton maestro Lin Dan who challenge Jan O Jorgensen. Another two ties, Japanese young star Kento Momota will be tested by Wei Nan and one more HKG player Hu Yun who disposed third seed Srikanth has mission impossible to overcome Lee CW.

With Li XR and Intanon ousted, the rivalry for WC title will be trimmed, the top two seeds will face Chinese players, Marin v Wang SX and Nehwal v Wang YH. Local hope Fanetri who looks on fire will take on Tai TY and Korean #1 Sung JH gets WC twice bronze medalist Sindhu. It's really hard to predict the outcome of these four ties.

Home hopeful Ahsan/Setiawan is expected to through as they will meet the English pair Ellis/Langridge, their teammates Pratama/Suwardi gets resilient Japanese combo Endo/Hayakawa. Two exciting battles to follow, Boe/Mogensen v Liu XL/Qiu ZH and top seed Lee YD/Yoo YS against China solid combination Fu HF/Zhang N.

Giant killer Anscelly/Soong FC will challenge home pair Maheswari/Polii while China has guaranteed 1 semifinal ticket through their powerful WD, Tian Q/Zhao YL v Wang XL/Yu Y. At lower half of draw, none CHN pair passed R/16 as we'll see healthy draw here, Gutta/Ponnappa v Fukuman/Yonao and European best Pedersen/Juhl will up against Go AR/Yoo HW.

Top two seeds Zhang N/Zhao YL and Xu/Ma on paper scenario will prevail against Jordan/Susanto and Arends/Piek respectively whom played superbly yesterday to knock out Fischer/Pedersen and Lu K/Huang YQ while local favourite Ahmad Natsir has darkhorse Ko SH/Kim HN to eye final four ticket. Another Chinese pair Liu/Bao will take on stern test, English married couple, Chris and Gabby Adcock.

I think.. from how it's divided.. the court 2 matches will be shown in China.. as higher seeds from China are all in court 2.. and court 1 for indonesia higher ranks and other higher rank players.. Broadcasting money.. i suppose.

I am delighted that the indonesians still have any player in single category. I know it is a far stretch.. but Zhang Nan/Zhao yunlei will really have a run for their money against Jordan-Debby. TOMORROW WILL BE A FUN DAY.

Thanks for the schedule but it's better leave this thread started ( No offence mate ) to CLELY. Clely's match schedule along with insight analysis about the matches gives a very quick preview of what one can expect.

Momota and Wei Nan is interesting match-up. Both always look so calm and saunter about. Give the edge to Momota, but Wei Nan will not go easily.

You can say that, he's clearly not into the game yet. Lagging far behind but still he shouldn't give up but try to get back in. Wake up, Wei Nan !
