I'm starting to have mixed feelings for this one. Starting out I was like, "this is pure ********" But now, I'm starting to think differently. From the idea of aeroplane wings, it was designed to be like water droplet so that air can flow thru efficiently. Thinking of this, box + sharp end maybe does help in its aerodynamics. Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong?
As amusing as it all was, the utterly arbitrary inclusion of Lee and Ahsan tickled me most. "Here's two Yonex players.. for no particular reason. They won't be using this thing, or anything..."
That was just to point out that one side will have the shape and characteristics of Voltric rackets (like LCW uses) and the other size has the shape characteristics of Nanoray rackets (like Ahsan uses). So it does make sense to compare playing styles.
Same for Japan team, most mens double are still using A11. Just finished All-Japan Corporate Team Championships 2015, 8 players in mens double final, 5 of them use A11, others are NR900, ZF2, VT70
Never played a single shot with it. But I also don't drink champagne while playing so I guess I'm not the targeted customer for the GlanZ. But seriously, this asymmetric frame should result in a different swing speed and thus a different timing, depending if you hit the shuttle with the boxy side or the slim side of the frame. And are you supposed to twist the racket 180° if you switch from forehand to a backhand shot to fully benefit from the optimal aerodynamics of the frame? If you want to have the same feel and swing, you basically have to twist it. Duh.... that is all so silly, it could easily pass as an April fool's joke in my opinion.
OMG Too funny. I originally thought it was a Japanese way to pronounce Duora the Explorer... That picture is like Devil Duora the Explorer super special edition. Then I remembered that Mizuno used the Duora name in their shuttle marketing the past year... Do the Japanese companies sue others as much as American companies do? They've got to be infringing on some sort of naming trademark from Mizuno. I'm not fond of the Duora name, so I'm trying to get Yonex sued by Mizuno (I'm making just making fun, no harm done)
https://www.facebook.com/YONEXBadmintonJapan/videos/934050743304101/?fref=nf A video talking about the latest tech from Yonex about the Durora series.
I just wonder how much tension the frame can take. It is not very practical at all as one needs to remember which side of which face of the racket that he/she is holding.... How about backhands? I would rather Yonex put some kind of bluetooth sensors in the handles than having this odd and not so practical design.
you go by the colour of the side of the frame that faces you. Orange up green down. And it handles 32lbs just fine.
Come on . They said that lee chong wei is trying a new series of rackets. Cant wait. Not sure if i am going to buy this? Should I.
Maybe. I shall just wait. The fleet offensive defensive 2 might be a little bit hard to get my hands on. Duora. What a funny name.
Interesting indeed, is there any video of this match? looking forward to see LCW playing backhand with 9%... whatever said in the ad, haha.
Only show match - he can play even with a wooden racket... But for serious single I doubt he change anything.
I guess that is a local tournament in Malaysia. LCW and Hoo Kah Mun played and won in XD 3 years ago.
