Yeah that's indeed a good news for Marin to compete, both for her to defend her title and the rest WS participants so no one may insinuate later that the WS winner (if not her again) just makes it in the absence of the defending champion.

This is assuming H.S Prannoy is fit and will play(I have no idea). If not then Rajiv Ouseph will take the 16th Spot.
Fox, Prannoy has confirmed he will play. He is not sure what level his fitness will be. From his Facebook page "It has been a tough 3 months after sustaining toe injury in Singapore open . But the good news is I will be back in World Championships next month . I am not sure how much I will be fit enough by Worlds , but I am back to training days."
tentatively confirmed 1 month ago. Shami told before Bangladesh tour that he will be fit before the 2nd test in SL, yet he told the selectors today to exclude him from the entire tour. Lets wait till Jakarta arrives before speculating on HSP and hope and pray for the best.
i think you are wrong in ws seedings because akane yamaguchi is not playing at world champs and same for zhang beiwen
yes actually akane yamaguchi has to play for her school in interschool games(intresting isn't it) and zhang beiwen is having no sponsors apart from that she is also having some issue regarding her american citizenship.
Because she changed citizenship I believe she cannot represent her new country in international competition (eg WC or Sudirman/TUC) for three years (or five?)
BZ hasn't qualified to represent USA in any major yet. IIRC there is some cooling off period or something about her citizenship. BTW next August Michael Chopra will be eligible to play for India.
Unlike for the Olympics, for the World Championships, the BWF abandons the quotas as soon as it makes the reserve list. As soon as a player is labelled R1, they can get the next spot that opens up, as long as it wouldn't make them the 5th player from their member association. This is why Indonesia, Russia, and Malaysia have 4 pairs each qualified in mixed even though they are ranked #13, #58, and #63 respectively.

the draw is out! http://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draws.aspx?id=196570E9-BF0B-47C8-A3B9-1F766AAABC36
LCW should progress to the SF where he will meet LD. A sigh of relief for CL with KC at the opposite half of the draw.
