I think it's really over for lin dan, he does not posses what it takes to be a champion. Hes formidable mentally but inferior in terms of physique. Oh yeah! congratulation for anthony he really one of a kind I knew it since i saw him play in Youth Olympic Games
One down,Five to go.21-18,21-10.Opponent was all smile and appreciated the greatness after that outrageous match point winning shot.Kalle KOLJONEN,played his best but played against best.Good luck in the future.
WS department was having a bad day yesterday as well, when will Goh Jin Wei play in the next tournament? She is the next big thing from Malaysia
This unkown Finnish Kalle KOLJONEN's journey is finished with style, he was giving Lin Dan a hard time in the first set, and he is young. Earlier in the morning, Derek Wong lost to another European. Raul something from Estonia. This is good for badminton for having new talents from new countries emerged to the world scene.
Ratchanok Intanon continuing her fine run of form. This lady can beat anyone anytime anywhere.Treat to watch
Well said.I am waiting for orthodox Australian's especially in MS to give some challenge to the top nations. Will be fun to watch.
The relative unknown Finn, Koljonen, woke up Lin Dan by giving his illustrious opponent a bit of scare in G1. If Lin Dan thinks he can simply play at 70-80% in a controlled rallying game (not fast and furious attacking badminton as in his younger days) and it should be enough to take out most of his ordinary opponents, he had better disabused himself of that idea from now on. In fact, by now, Lin Dan ought to realize that every run-of-the-mill opponent without exception will be motivated enough to go all out and play the game of their life to beat him in hopes of instant fame; that alone can catch him by surprise.
I read in an article about Tommy Sugiarto saying that he played Lin Dan three time before but couldn't win but now his style has changed and it suits him.
Tommy also said that Lin Dan's fitness has deteriorated a bit, while fast and furious style of play requires a very fit body, that's why Lin Dan play rally more to compensate the lack of fitness. Tommy on the other hand has played rallying game the whole of his life, and he can run all day if you don't have a winner shot against him.
You must be joking. If you think he is putting in maximum physical effort I can tell you he is saving that for Rio.
As usual, the THA juniors like Pornpawee who just played at the ASC continues to feature regularly at the senior tourneys - she's now up against Yui Hashimoto. Where are the CHN juniors, He BJ and company ?
KKK/TBH playing now. Wonder if they are better than their old selves mentally? Great to have them back on the main circuit anyway. Probably the most exciting and dynamic MD pair in history.
It's really comfortable scoreline. Ginting has improved and hopefully being quarterfinalist at homeground SS Premier last month was no fluke. It's still understandable for Firman who succumbed to high ranked MS, Son Wan Ho.
