Yonex recently announced their latest series/ model of racket DUORA-10 It has been said to has to sides/2 types of frame which means the front-side of the racket frame has a different profile compared to the backside of the frame. cheers.
Looks like racket tech has gone stale interesting concept from the Empire though. Where were these models on display at?
Most probably Japan based on all those Japanese character. Based on the picture, it seems like the racket has a side of box frame and another one with aerodynamic frame. I don't think this kind of "technology" even make sense at all
New series "DUORA" to replace Arcsaber series? Is this a all rounder, heavy head or light head series? I can't find any info in yonex.com
What????? Looks like a weird concept. Different frames on different sides?? WTF! Is THIS supposed to replace ArcSaber or is it entirely different? Doesn't seem that great at the moment...
Would make sense for this new Duora to be the predecessor to the Arcsaber line. It's been 8 years since the release of the first Arcsaber which was the 7
The box frame shape exactly like Victor's "Power Box" frame shape. Meanwhile the aerodynamic shape in the above picture look like Victor's "Aero-Diamond" and "Sword" shape and technology.
I don't think so. Since it has 2 profile, I wonder where should yonex place it on the chart, control side? Or the repulsion side? But still, I think this kind of gimmick is not making any sense. Who on earth will spin their racket before they go for a clear/smash then spin back again for drives. If yes, he must be very good in multitasking. Run back (spins racket), run back to front(spins again), run back to behind (spins)... Yup it's not available on the yonex page yet for now. Maybe 2-3 months later?
What's next? Left-handed hammers? Just when I thought they couldn't do anything dafter than the GlanZ...
Similar to Apacs "Blend" model...one side (backhand) of the frame more aerodynamic for defense while the other side more solid for smashing
Similar concept was made available by Fleet year ago http://www.sportshorizon.com/products/901003-100585/Fleet-Defensive-Offensive-2
well then... make sure when spinning your racket that you end up on the right side! If this is the new ArcSaber, hope there will be more rackets to come soon... that will actually make sense LOL
Product designer 1: "Did you seen the new Victors? They have to different profiles in one racket!" Product designer 2: "Hmmm, holy cow. I don't find a good word which I can add to NANO." Product designer 1: "We can't copy that. Do you know what we can change?" Product designer 2: "They have the difference between top and bottom...Why we don't make on profile on each side?" Product designer 1: "Great. Now we have some more time to create a technology and sell the same graphite. What do you thing about NANO...to be continued.
Wow. They must be grasping at straws. Doing repaints and now having a different aerodynamic profile on each side. Reeks more of desperation and less of ingenuity.
Could the racket work to optimize forehand and backhand swing, respectively .. cause i casually swing my racket using my forehand and backhand .. in which both would produce a diff sound or i would say aerodynamically different .. but that could be due to my weak backhand ..
