    For second time US Open GP Gold takes place in Brentwood-New York, the tournament will kick off on Tuesday, starting from qualifying round and MS R/64.

    The main attraction of this GP Gold will be glued to none but former world #1 Lee Chong Wei who taking part in back to back US Open and Canada Open at following week. Some notable names like top-seed Chou TC, Sasaki, Dubai SS Final runner-up Vittinghus, Ueda, Xue Song will be string of tests for Malaysian superstar to bag MS crown here.

    In WS, Canadian well-improved player Michelle Li and defending champion Zhang Beiwen will challenge Japanese powerful ladies, Okuhara, Yamaguchi, Mitani, Takahashi and new sensation Yui Hashimoto who had incredible run at INA Premier couple of weeks ago.

    Japan two MD combinations Hashimoto/Hirata and Kamura/Sonoda along with Danish Astrup/Rasmussen will be the frontrunners however some pairs who potentially reject those faves, Kazuno/Yamada, Fuchs/Schoettler and Chinese former world junior champion Li JH/Liu YC.

    Top two seeds, Fuchs/Michels and AUS SS winner Reginald Lee CH/Chau HW have bright prospect to grab XD title, the darkhorses who may derail their mission will coming from HKG pair Alan CYL/Tse YS and NED Arends/Piek.

    I have a feeling that LCW will lose in any of the 3 tournaments (US Open, Canada , Chinese Taipei open) to one of the potential players .

    That may take place even in this tournament. Just my opinion. Don't mistake me.

    TPE GP Gold is absolutely tougher competition than US and Canada Open based on the entry list.

    ROUND OF 32 (09.00am local time, 4 courts) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=8F235FEF-DA5B-462F-B40B-7F61082DA3E9

    Shaky performance by the top-seed Chou TC who eliminated Finland MS in rubber games, he will take on Swede Henri Hurskainen next. Clear favourite Lee CW is expected will overcome Rasmus Fladberg, son of famous Danish WS Kirsten Larsen.

    Japanese WS top contender, Okuhara has no problem to pass first hurdle while Yamaguchi will take on Turkish talent Neslihan Yigit. Aya Ohori v Li Yun should be interesting tie to follow beside Mitani v Schnaase.

    The last MS match yesterday involved another Chinese youngster. He showed some promise, by battling back from 1 game down and 20-18 down in the 3rd game, to win the match. I am terribly disappointed at the sparse turn out last night. If this event was held in SoCal, I am sure the gym will be packed every minute.

    Zhu Siyuan, similar case with Shi Yuqi at the brink of defeat but this 2014 Youth Olympic Gold medalist couldn't sealed the match as he lost narrowly to Angus Ng Ka Long, 22-24 at decider.

    Well, disappointed outcome by 7th seed Xue Song who succumbed to JPN Kenta Nishimoto, 16-21 / 15-21. Another upset, MD 3rd seed Astrup/Rasmussen was sent packing by Japanese young pair Hoki/Kobayashi.

    Eight Japanese WS at R/16 and three last eight spots have been secured, defending champion will face tough test from this stage, Sayaka Sato. China lone survivor, the left-handed Shen Yaying has Spaniard opponent, Beatriz Corrales.
