LCW ranking drops to 79. Even if he wins US GPG and Canada GP will still have a low ranking. Will be a qualifier for next SS and SSP.

IF LCW wins the US GPG, Canada GP and get into at least the final of the WC he will be in touching distance of the top 32. should be able to get into the main draw of the DEN SS in Sept.

Getting to the WC final will be tough. Let's hope he can finally grab that elusive title, he really deserves it by now and I'd appreciate the irony (as it would be very similar to LD's 2013 win)

I would like to see him win the WC. He really deserves it, in my opinion - but that's not how it works...
Maybe his new coach Morten Frost can teach him a few new tricks and give him tactical instructions that enable him to take the last step that's always been missing so far.

He first has to deal with a tough draw. Might have to play a bogie player in round 1, because of his low ranking. (Chen Long, Lin Dan) Will have to be ready to play at a high level with no easy rounds. ;)

On the contrary, everyone will be wary of him and may not be pleased if drawn against him.

The game Chong Wei played in the first game against Firman was probably his C game... extremely dangerous, kind of reminded me of that game against Simon Santoso at the Singaporean Open 2014. His defense just broke down, and smashes were going wide on more than a few times. At least he won in the end, by destroying Firman in the second set.

On some occasions it was very obvious that LCW didn't feel comfortable taking the pace out of his own game, which led him to make some mistakes. When he increased the pace in game 2 he made less errors. If he wants to use this "control"-game style against players like CL or LD he has to practice it more, imho.

To make sure his passport is still valid. :) He is on a mission to win 3 GPG back to back : Canada, USA and Taipei.
